No hot water
Yes there is a small red breaker switch on the left side of the boiler tank. Unplug the unit first then remove the left side cover and just push down on the red breaker switch to reset it.
Brewer shooting steam instead of water in Rancilio silvia
Machine may be full of limescale and pipes are blocked... Do you know if the water in the area is Hard? Maybe it needs a descale cycle, although it may be too late for this. May need to open it up and clean out the boiler manually.
My Rancilio Epoca ST1 would not turn on yesterday
That's a tough one, the only thing I can think of is checking the reset switch and the element with an ohms meter to see if they are functioning correctly, before moving on. The only reason the machine would turn itself off, would be lack of water in the main boiler and if it does not know there is water in the reservoir, or it cannot take water from the reservoir to fill the boiler, or the element is overheating so *** trips the reset.
I have no water pouring out of the portafilter.
Lets see if we are on the same page here, without the portafilters in place no water flows out of the groupheads, correct. Ok, first I would check the pump gauge to make sure it was going to 9bars when the pump is running. Then I would remove the front panel and check the solenoids on the group that is not working to make sure the coil works. Run the head for a few seconds and then stop if water drains out the bottom of solenoid, we can move on, if not turn machine off and let it cool down, turn off water supply. Then remove black coil, by removing the discharge tube then 14mm nut. Next loosen silver tube nut and remove. Do Not Remove The Allen Wrench Screws. Now Turn on the water quickly to see if water flows from middle of square brass fitting. If not use a paper clip to clear and try again by opening the water quickly and closing it. If water flows use an ohms meter to check the coil. If the coil is fine then the problem is higher in the machine you will have to remove the top panel. The machine is blocked at the metering jet, possible because one side is not being used as often or a new filter was installed without being flushed. The metering jet is on one of the big nuts on the top of the group.
