If you have a model with a circuit breaker(little red button on top of unit) push button and it should work. On models that do not have circuit breaker just turn Rainbow off and on to reset. Hope this helps.

Vacuum slower to allow debris to get onto machine.keep the rainbow running for an additional minute or two when through to allow whatever is picked up to move completely through hose to water basin. It is like plumbing. If you stop the flow midstream it will stay there. Hope this helps.

If you remove the screws holding the handle pieces together you can separate them and remove the actuator and put the new one in the same place, then put the handle back together.

Run clear water through it but it should still be replaced every year or two depending on use.

If it is broken and will not stay engaged it should be replaced.

Try putting on a new belt.

Replace the belt if it's over 6 months old. Belts lose elasticity from being stretched

You may have damaged a bearing or bearing housing and that could be causing the motor armature and field to rub together which in turn causes the motor to draw a significantly increased current to overcome the friction. It could be a simple fix if it is a bearing but if it is the housing then it is likely toast. I used to repair motors years ago and the cost then was not bad. However if the motor is heat damaged, as happened to my power rack last year, it was cheaper to buy a new one than replace the motor. A burned out motor is not worth repairing these days.

Unfortunately Rainbow does not offer this part by itself, they only make the computer as a complete assembly. Rainbow E2 controller 120v You can try contacting local vacuum shops and see if they have any broken Rainbows with good controllers that they would be willing to sell only that part to you. 800-775-6586 GoodVac com
