Speaker blown. Amp blown. Volume issue. Could be anything. I woud check the wiring and speaker first.

Check the connections between the monitor and camera, especially at the camera, then inspect the cable for damage. The automobile is a harsh environment for electronics, especially for any part outside of the passenger compartment. The heat, cold and possibly spilled beverages or salt from winter footwear aren't too kind for the equipment either if they come into contact. You may need to ground one end of the red wire that comes out of the ends of the video cable, or the ground connection may have gone bad. If that has happened, take it apart, polish off any corrosion (Scotchbrite abrasive pads are great for this), then coat the connector, screw and body attach point with a thin film of dielectric grease before putting it back together.

check you rca jacks switch sides if the right channel still has no sound then it needs repair if the left channel doesnt work then the rca jacks are messed up

Question edited for clarity, typos and spelling. It could be a few things. The most likely is a scratched or dirty DVD. The player might be cutting out on overheat. Vacuum the vents. If it is the portable type that looks like a laptop, don't put it on your lap as the intake vents are often in the underside. Put it on a tray. Or the laser optics need cleaning. Amazon or Walmart have the cleaning discs.

The PPHP42B manual states in cases of "No Sound" it could be caused by "volume too low" or "no input sound source" - are you using the remote to adjust the sound / input?
