Are there any signs of life at all when you try to power on the TV ? Clicking sounds.. power light ? Blinking?

If the set still does not power on ,it indicates the power board is not powering up at all- you may have a blown fuse on the power board
You can replace it by removing screws on back of the set and the entire rear panel with a “ same type and rating “ from your local hardware store.
The fuse is generally located on the board where the power cord connects
If it still does not fix problem , you may have a failed component on the power supply board

sounds like the led back light has gone on a few lines, this can cause the problems you have said it can also be a weak power board and the voltage for the leds has dropped, you will need to check the power board and check the condition of the capacitors on the power board, any abnormal looking capacitors would need changing/replacing.

That suggests the problem is more than a dirty lens or incompatible format. There are several videos on the web that tackle the "no disk" problem but all are of other brands than the Protron. You already know that it is not a matter of the motor. That actually suggests to me that the optics are not working. You might try a lens cleaning disk on the off chance that the lens is merely dirty or blocked but it does look like a failure lens apparatus. If so, you can probably guess that a service repair is probably not an economic choice. However, the customer service number is above.

Your problem is not with the remote but rather the circuitry designed to respond to the signals transmitted by the remote(s) Find out what board has the circuitry that responds to the remote signals and replace that board. Got a better idea?. If very expensive then you have 2 choices - deal with a remote less set or get a new one.
