Hi:
when using DVi input you will still need two audio cables for the DVI output to get audio, DVI does not carry audio as with Hdmi cables if you are using a DVI to HDMI adapter then you will still have to use the DVI Audio Output jacks for audio.

This sounds like it could very well be a failed capacitor. I would take the back off the tv and inspect the capacitors on the boards and see if any are bulged or leaking. Most likely being that its a 32" you may want to consider replacing it as it would be a wiser investment over repair. If you need further assistance please let me know.
thank you,

You need to replace the bulb. Look in your owners manual and order recommended replacement bulb and follow steps in owners guide to replace bulb yourself. Its easy. I changed mine in less than 5 minutes.
Tv turns on for 1 second and turns itself off
I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.
Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV
up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors.
Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although
were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of
preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected
due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.
Hope this helps
I turned on my NT-295
No, it's not a fuse, you have power. The static discharge has fried the image processor from the mainboard, you will have to replace it. Unfortunately Proton is a no-name manufacturer - one that buys obsolete or discarded boards from mainstream manufacturers, assembles them very cheaply in China and sell the resulting product under its own badge. Because of that replacement parts are available only at a dealer, and only for a limited time - until the original stock of parts dries up.
Contact them here http://www.proton-usa.com/contact.asp.htm and ask them for their closest dealer.
But i honestly believe that you should consider this tv as dead and move on.
I'm not sure if this is the model we have (not at

Hello
I've tried a few minutes ago to get the serial number of your TVs LOT, before I present a solution before you. I've went through all sites, that I know, where I can get the LOT serial number, but went in vein.
Replacing the LOY with an other type, and number will surely spoil your TVs most of the components.
You just do one thing. Goto an electronic spare part shop, with the LOT in your hand, and inform them about the details of your TV. They can help you. By checking its winding continuity, they can select the right one for you. Winding continuity is important and should ckec properly. You can't check the winding continuity of the EHT winding, and it is ussualy shorts, and that short causes the LOT get damaged. The base connection windings won't short at all, and you can check its by measuring its resistance with a multimeter, and choose a suitable and exact replacement.
Never put any unknown LOT. Ok.
My magnavox HDTV turns off with noise and vertical lines
I have the turning on an off problem with another TV brand (that is an analog v on a cable converter box) that at times seemed to come from signals from different remote devices in my room, but at other times nothing at all. The on and off times varied from random, to distinct cycles. Some days there's no on and off problem at all.
There's an interesting answer string when looking for "tv turns on and off" that, among a few other answers, many times points to a capacitor going bad.
For more precise ideas, enter in the web search field your make and model with 'turns on and off" and see what comes up. There are some nice repair log stings on the internet now that help too.

Hi,
Does you hear the sound / noise ? or after few seconds you could see only blinks? Is there any sequence of the blinks? If yes, kindly mention the same.
Thanks!!
Big screen tv turns on and off on its own!
Your TV is being overheated by the location it is placed. try moving it in an airy area and see if the problem still occurs. The turning on and off is a response to overheating sensors in the TV housing and if not rectified it could malfunction and may cause burnout, a possible risk of fire.
Why does my rca tv
I don't know all the facts, but sometimes someone has set the sleep timer without telling someone else. Obviously there are other possibilities. How long does it stay on, are there any blinking lights and does it turn right on again when you try.
