One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive boot up

test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty ?

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause this problem computer needs all of the data and power to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working

could be a dirty graphics card you might have remove the graphics card and clean the socket

also check your computer ram to make sure they are securely seated and the

I have a promise NS4300N

You should have run the configuration tool and make sure it is connected to the network ..even if you have only one connection ...Probably you will have to change the way it connects to the router by choosing another IP address into the router's range ..or ..make the other changes..if the network is a tcp/ip protocol ..and has its own ip address ..during the setting you will have to choose a browser too and all kinda things..so ..I would run the advance configuration ..and follow instructions in the manual..
To get to its setting you will probably have to connect it directly ..and make the changes it needs on the network card ..(it may need manual setting for the ip address subnet mask ..and default gateway ..(in this case the router's Ip will be the one ..and the subnet mask wil be 255.255.255.0 and an IP address according to the slot is plugged in and the router's range )The fact that it is not seen in the network means it is not connected to the router proper way ..so run the configuration anyway .
if you do not have the manual ..here is a link
