My bsi5500 generator stopped generating electricity ewhen i fotrgot to turn off the airconditioner.It was still running but there was no electricity.Fuses did not pop.
Here are some reasons for your reference:
1.After the generator is stopped, the residual magnetism is often lost, because the material used for the magnetic pole of the exciter is close to the soft steel, and the residual magnetism is small. After the shutdown, when there is no current in the excitation winding, the magnetic field will disappear.
2.The magnetic pole of the generator loses its
magnetic properties.
3.Damage of excitation circuit components or circuit breakage, short circuit or grounding phenomena.
4.The exciter brush is not in good contact with the commutator and pressure of brush holder is insufficient.
5.Excitation winding wiring error, opposite polarity.
6.Stator winding and rotor winding of generator set open circuit.
7.Poor contact between generator brush and slip ring, or insufficient brush pressure.
8.Generator lead wire wiring is loose or switch contact is poor.
9.The fuse box is fused.
10.The "auto-manual-de-excitation" switch on the control panel is in the de-excitation position (automatic generator set has "auto-manual-de-excitation" switch).
11.The voltmeter is damaged.
12.Rotary rectifier module is damaged.

Why generators do not generate electricity
1. Fault phenomenon
When the generator set speed reaches the rated speed, the AC exciter stator excitation circuit switch is closed and the voltage regulator is adjusted to the maximum value when the generator speed reaches the rated speed.
2. failure cause
The generator core remanence disappears or is too weak, the newly installed unit is disturbed by long-distance transportation or the generator is placed for too long, the generator core remanence disappears or the remanence inductance is weak, which results in the generator remanence voltage vanishing or less than the normal remanence voltage value.

the generator is running too fast..since you are using a manual speed control it means you are overiding the automatic control,, just cut down the speed to where it gives the voltage you wish..or let the auto control work..
