2004 Bonneville SLE. Driver door power windows switch assembly. All of a sudden, no window, lock power to passenger door or window, and both rear doors or windows. Driver's door and window work fine.

You probably have no idea how these work - power locks an power windows. Control modules inside each door make them work . Power Windows Operation The vehicle is equipped with power windows controlled by the door modules. Each passenger door window can be operated, either from a switch built into the driver door switch assembly (DDSA), or from a switch mounted locally to its associated door. The driver door window can be operated only from the driver door window switch built into the DDSA. When a window is operated from the DDSA, the DDSA interprets the window switch signal as a specific window switch request and sends the information to the driver door module (DDM) via the power door serial data circuit. The DDM examines the request and checks to see if it has received any class 2 serial data messages from any of the other vehicle modules (i.e. ignition switch position) prohibiting the movement of the window. If the window being operated is the driver door window, and if no prohibitive class 2 messages have been received, the DDM then applies voltage and ground to the driver door window motor to move the window glass as requested. If the window being operated is a passenger door window, and no prohibitive class 2 messages have been received, the DDM sends the request, via the power door serial data circuit, to the appropriate passenger door module. The passenger door module then applies voltage and ground to the passenger door window motor to move the window glass as requested. When a passenger door window is operated from the power window switch mounted locally to its associated door, the passenger door module first checks to see if the DDM has received any prohibitive class 2 serial data messages. If there are no prohibitive messages, the passenger door module powers the associated passenger door window motor. Both front door windows have the express down feature. This allows the front door windows to be fully opened by momentarily pulling the appropriate window switch lever to the second detente and then releasing. Hook up a scan tool an check for DTC'S could save time in diagnosing this . Also on a vehicle that old checking for broken wires in the door flexes would be good to do. Opening an closing the doors a million times causing wires to stretch ,break et... The power windows on your vehicle has a circuit breaker for battery power ,not a fuse. The power locks do have a fuse for power. Won't think circuit breaker an fuse bad at same time .

2006 Pontiac G6 anti theft triggered. A locksmith made a new key car, but cranks no start.

You probably need to do a key relearn procedure. Turn the key to the ON position for 15-20 minutes until the security light goes out. Then turn the key off and back on again until the security light goes out. You need to repeat this 3 times, then once again turn the key off and back on, this time the security light should light and go out after its 3 second check. Now the car should start normally.

Changing transmission cooling lines 2001 Pontiac Grand Am Gt. when installing the top line, the one with the rubber seal on it. part 24221233,ideals or video's

Here are the steps to install the transmission cooling line with a rubber seal on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT:
  1. Raise the vehicle: Use a jack and jack stands to lift the front of the car off the ground.
  2. Locate the transmission cooler lines: The transmission cooler lines are located on the passenger side of the vehicle near the front of the transmission.
  3. Remove the old transmission cooling line: Use a wrench to loosen the fitting where the old transmission cooling line connects to the transmission. Slide the fitting away from the transmission and let the old line drain.
  4. Install the new transmission cooling line: Insert the new transmission cooling line into the fitting on the transmission. Make sure the rubber seal is securely seated.
  5. Tighten the fitting: Use a wrench to tighten the fitting on the transmission. Be careful not to overtighten, as this could damage the fitting or the new line.
  6. Lower the vehicle: Use the jack to lower the vehicle back down to the ground.
  7. Check for leaks: Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks around the fitting on the transmission and around the rubber seal on the new line.
If you need additional assistance or want to see a video tutorial, I would recommend searching for videos on YouTube that specifically cover the installation of transmission cooling lines on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT.

Door lock receiver on a2001 Pontiac Grand am

Do they work with the key fob, do you have one of those? They lock when put into gear an unlock when put into park because the BCM - body control module does that . Door Lock System Components The power door lock system consists of the following components: • Driver door lock switch • Front Passenger door lock switch • Body Control Module (BCM) • Relays: Driver Door Unlock -- on vehicles with RFA, Door Unlock, and Door Lock • Door Lock fuse 15A Door Lock System Controls The power door lock system can be controlled by any of the following: • A power door lock switch activation • A keyless entry command -- if equipped with keyless entry Driver and Passenger Door Lock Operation When any of the door lock switches is pressed to the lock position, the BCM door lock/unlock signal circuit changes from an idle voltage of ~3.4 volts to 0.0 volts generating a lock command. The BCM then applies battery positive voltage to the Door Lock Relay, which in turn applies battery positive voltage to the Door Lock Actuator lock circuit of all the Door Lock Actuators. Since the Door Lock Actuator unlock circuits are held to ground through the resting Door Unlock Relay(s), the actuators execute the lock command, locking the doors. The lock function can also be accomplished by the BCM having received a keyless entry door lock command, if the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry. Driver and Passenger Door Unlock Operation When any of the door lock switches is pressed to the unlock position, the BCM door lock/unlock signal circuit changes from an idle voltage of ~3.4 volts to ~1.7 volts generating an unlock command. The BCM then applies battery positive voltage to the Door Unlock Relay and the Driver Door Unlock Relay when equipped with keyless entry, the relay(s) in turn apply battery positive voltage to the Door Lock Actuator unlock circuit of all the Door Lock Actuators. Since the Door Lock Actuator lock circuits are held to ground through the resting Door Lock Relay, the actuators execute the unlock command, unlocking the doors. The unlock function can also be accomplished by the BCM having received a keyless entry door unlock command, if the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry. Keyless entry personalization allows the driver door to be unlocked individually before unlocking the passenger doors. When this feature is active, the BCM will require a repeated unlock command to unlock the passenger doors. Automatic Door Lock/Unlock The automatic door lock/unlock function is a Vehicle Personalization feature with the following four programmable modes of operation: The automatic door lock feature is disabled. All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of Park with the ignition ON. All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of Park with the ignition ON, and all of the doors Unlock when the vehicle is shifted into Park. All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of Park with the ignition ON, and only the driver door Unlocks when the vehicle is shifted into Park. For information on programming the automatic door locks, refer to Vehicle Personalization in Personalization.

How do I check the spark plug wires on a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix 33? Point one leader V6.

To check the spark plug wires on your 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.3L V6, you can follow these steps:
  1. Locate the spark plug wires on the engine. They are usually connected to the spark plugs on the top of the engine and the ignition coil on the side of the engine.
  2. Inspect the wires for any visible damage, such as cracks or cuts. Also, check the connections at the spark plugs and the ignition coil for any signs of corrosion or looseness.
  3. Use a spark plug wire tester to check the wires for proper resistance. You can purchase a tester at an auto parts store. Follow the instructions provided with the tester to check each wire.
  4. If a wire fails the resistance test, replace it with a new wire. Be sure to replace each wire one at a time to avoid mixing up the order.
  5. After replacing the wires, try starting the engine again to see if the problem has been resolved.
If the problem persists after checking and replacing the spark plug wires, there may be other issues causing the engine to not start, such as a faulty ignition coil or fuel system components. In that case, it may be necessary to take the vehicle to a mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
