This occurs when the phone is set up to load it's configuration file from a ftp or tftp server and it cannot find the file or server location. If the phone is supposed to do this, please check that the ftp or tftp service is running on the specified server. The server name or ip is specified in the setup of the phone, available when the phone is first booting up. The default username is 'Polycom' and password is '456'. If you DO NOT want your phone to get it's configuration from a network server, enter the setup area and remove the server name or IP address from the appropriate section.

This is usually a problem with the phone's configuration. Is this phone getting it's configuration from a network server or pbx? If so, find the configuration file for your specific extension and find this location. This example is for a phone whose extension is 2704

If you are not using a network-based configuration, the phone's settings can be changed via the phone's internal web server. Open a web browser window and enter the phones' IP address, i.e. http://192.168.1.109. The default user is 'Polycom' and the pass '456'. Go to the links at the top for each line you are using and scroll to the bottom, you will see the voicemail settings there. Use the above info to fill in the correct info, save the settings and the phone will reboot.
Trying to connect my office phone to my home PC.
Gene,
The computer connectors are so designed that only the correct can be connected to the correct socket. So if it fits it is meant for that socket.
At boot up please press F2 and enter the BIOS. Here look for Boot up sequence. Your PC seems to the set to boot up from a LAN server. Change it to HDD.
You do need a router. Whether a wired or a wireless is your choice.

sounds like the phone is not registered with the server correctly,
your server is not setup to use the proper audio coedec's to pass the call through, so it fails sending the caller direct to voicemail.
check the registration port on both ends as well.
If everything above appears correct, check to see that the phone is not set to DND at the phone server end, this can be set independent from the phones settings which may appear normal.
i hope that helps you.

Polycom 501 phone keeps trying to reboot itself.
try to turn off the Polycom device. When you turn it back on, press Setup. from the options, select server then click edit. Then select the item Trivial FTP (that setup depends on your ISP), and type the IP address assigned to your network (example 192.168.90.90) then hit OK. click exit several times then press Save & reboot. If it did not work, let us know...

Polycom SoundPoint 550-Only Showing 1 line
On the phone, press the menu button, then status, then IP status or whatever and get the phone's IP address. Write the ip address down. On your computer, open up a web browser and input the phone's IP address into the address bar and press enter. This should arrive you at the web gui for that phone. It'll probably ask you for login credentials; by default, the name is "Polycom" (yes , it is case-sensetive) and the password is 456. Once you are logged in, you should see several links like "General" "Network" "Sip" and "Lines". click on Lines. under "line 1", you will see the configuration for that line. simply duplicate the entries for lines 2, 3, and 4.

Polycom SE225: my verizon line provide caller id does not displa
Due to the age of the SoundPoint Pro, it some of its features are not compatible with newer phonesystems, such as CableVision. There are no software updates for the SoundPoint Pro, and as long as the Caller ID is enabled there are no other settings or adjustments that can be made to workaround these kind of problems unfortunately. I recommend contacting your service provider to see what kind of caller ID signaling they are using; most likely they will be using a newer digital system, or MDMF which is not backwards compatible with SDMF or earlier CID receivers.

Voicemail is server reliant; the phone has nothing to do with it. You will need to contact your service provider or phone administrator to obtain or reset your voicemail PIN code.

Are you using an AC adapter? If so, there's only really one of two things, hardware wise, that could be the cause of your problem: The phone is dead, or the AC adapter is dead. The best way to check of course, is another AC adapter with the same voltage output, then you'll know exactly which piece needs to be replaced.

Have you tried a factory reset from the menu interface? Be careful if you do, and only choose "Format File System" as a last resort, and only if you feel comfortable enough setting up a FTP/TFTP boot server to re-provision the phone, as this option will erase everything, and then all it'll do is get stuck in a boot cycle until reprovisioned.

We are getting a int..IP
Hello,
Have you double checked if it is getting an IP address? Chances are it does not have any internet connection that is why it is getting service unavailable.
This is what you can do. Try to get the IP block and then assign one static IP address to the IP phone.
And then let me know how it goes.
Thanks!
