Red power light is on but tv will not turn on...no

Dear quiltcat1,

With the conditions as you say, there are components in the monitor, exactly on the power supply board is not working properly or damaged and it usually Capacitor.

The solution are:
1. Open the monitor case
2. Look for Power supply board, you will see there are some capacitors.
3. Look for bad capacitors which bulged at the top.
4. Just take out (you need a soldering tool in this step)
5. Replace with the same value of microFarad and higher values for Voltage.
for example: 1000mf 10V replace with 1000mf 10 to 25 V will be fine.

good luck.

regards,
dm

Video screen will not stay on

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Cause of power going off: There is a bad 1000uF, 16V cap on the power supply board.

Solution: Replace cap. Radio Shack sells a 1000uF, 35V cap for $2. This will work.

Why did the cap go bad? The cap is too close to a heat sink and over heated.

What does this cap do? This cap sends a signal to an IC which keeps the monitor 'on' after the power switch is pushed. When the cap is weak, AC ripple voltage is applied to the IC and it sends a signal to shut the monitor off.

Opening the Monitor: These monitors are difficult to open.

The two plastic pieces snap together and must be pried apart with a flat screw driver.

After removing the stand, you need to insert a flat screw driver at the bottom of the screen where two slots are located. Then work the screw driver around until the two plastic pieces are separated.

Remove the cover plate and unscrew the push button circuit board.

Unplug the monitor cords from the driver board and remove the screen.

Unscrew the mounting screws from the power supply board and remove.

You will need to pinch the plastic support in the middle of the board to remove.

Cap Replacement:

Cap is located near a copper heat sink and the value will be on the side of the cap. It will be bulged up on the top. You will see burn marks on the board surrounding the cap. Unsolder the cap.

Install the new cap and solder. Make sure you connect + of the cap to + marked on the board.

Be careful not to solder across joints.

Keep leads long so you can bend the cap as far away from the heat sink as possible.

Reassemble monitor and turn on.

This should solve the problem.

I dont have driver for my polaroid webcam

Apparently Polaroid chose not to let people access its drivers downloads.

The site routes you to "[email protected]".

Phone: 1-877-388-3779

Several other sites report "drivers", but all the links I found are either outdated, dead, or occasionally poorly disguised Trojan horses, or cheap attempts to make you download "driver fixing" softwares which, the drivers not being there, I can't really see how they could help you.

Do you have to turn it back on with the remote after this?

If so, then you may have set a timer by accident through the menu system.

More information would be required.

I had the same problem a few years ago and was able to find the file on Polaroid's website. Unfortunately the link that I used is now inactive but I have put the file on filehosting.org so you and others can get a copy.

Please follow this link to download pdc301driver.exe which is the original download from Polaroid. Let me know if it works out for you!

Sound but no picture. menus work.

I had the same problem. In the menu, the image button was grey, and could not be hi-lighted, and the screen stayed blue. I was using the AC power cord. I plugged in the DC power cord instead, and it "woke" the unit up. I switched back to the AC power and it works fine. If you don't hve the DC cord that came with the TV, try andy 12 volt dc output cord with a positive tip.
