• Is it connected properly?
• Are you drivers up to date?
• Are you using a video card?

Hey if you go into system prefs > displays > arrangement you can drag the white bar on the top to the other screen you're using (status bar from the top and the dock). Not sure if that's what you're after but may help.

most probably the lamp ballast is defective ,you need a new one

That is not a good sign, this indicates the LCD panel display is failing, I would use until it completely goes, and replace the monitor with a new one , cheaper in the long run.

HelloNo. Ofcourse not. What are you saying. Smoke over the TV!Switch it OFF. There is something wrong with its internal circuit. Any capcitor or resistor burns. Cannot troubleshoot remotedly to this fault. Plasma TVs may heat up to an extent, and there will be fans at the top of them to **** out the heat produced while it works. Look, whther the fans are working. If not replace them or findount the reason.A plasma Tv; whatever old it is; won't blow out smoke at all. OK.

There is a couple of possibilities and things to eliminate.
Your monitor is acting like it's not getting a signal. First make sure your video cable is plugged in and tightly connected with the screws fully torqued down. Test the video card by wiggling the connected cord to see if the monitor comes on even temporarily. Try opening the case and re-seating the video card.
If you can get the monitor to stay on long enough go into the control panel and the properties page and make sure you screen saver or power management for energy savings is not set to zero.
If it's new you may have to go the your control panels add remove components and un-install the video card then re-install the driver again. Windows is famous for this requirement.
If you are using this as a second monitor connected to a laptop you will have to hit the corresponding function key on the top row of your keypad, F4 or ?...., to open the port to avail the signal.
On a mechanical level at the monitor depress the Menu button and try a few sizing adjustments to bring the picture back to shape.
Cable - HDMI, USB, VGA ? You may need an adapter to get the signal VGA to HDMI etc.
We need more information but try these things to start.

The monitor cannot support the video resolution that the PC is putting out. You need to lower your PC video resolution or get the better monitor that can support the resolution the game requires.

When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del or ALT+F2 key to enter in bios then make sure usb is enabled if you use external usb harddrive. Then make sure usb cable is fine . Then go to device manager and uninstall all usb drivers 1 by 1 then it will automatic install all usb drivers.Right click on my computer then click on property->hardware->device manager then you can see all drivers list. Then uninstall.If after that same issue then give me your harddrive info so i can give you link for download driver. Also follow below. For that you need change some registry keys and delete upper and lower filter with below method. First make sure usb cable connected to harddrive is working fine. Try it in different usb ports. Press windows key +R key so you can see run then type in run "devmgmt.msc" then press ok so you can see device manager uninstall all usb drivers then it automatic install usb drivers. then check. Also you need to change registry for that type in run "regedit" then press ok then you can see registry editor then locate below key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11 CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} And remove upper filter and lower filter.Then restart computer then check.
