Yes, it appears that a new driive is in your future. Don't by Pioneer, get a TDK, Plextor, or BenQ (my favorites.)

It shouldnt need a driver to boot from it on a modern system, as far as i know... although to be honest never tried an install via a blueray drive.I assume you have already set the boot sequence so this drive should boot first, from within the BIOS.You can access the BIOS usually by pressing repeatedly either the F2, F10 or delete key, depending on the system, as soon as you power on the system. within there, often under "advanced settings", look for boot sequence... and make sure this drive is listed first... then save changes and exit...I know there are some issues depending on which sata port u are using on the mainboard... try changing the cable to another sata port. if the sata port is an ODD port, it is often only enabled when ACHI is also enabled from within the BIOS. so, id try changing the sata port the drive is connected to...a couple of things to try first...hope this info helps.

you might have to physically unplug the leads for this blue-ray disc/dvd/cd writer then plug them back in this should activate the found new hardware wizard
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it

The harddrive burner is incompartible with DVD DL+R disks. First, attempt to burn the same program into CD R W OR DVD R W after refering to the disk burner compartibility. Also, attempt to ascertain the compartibity of the program. A huge program file usually may begin burning with compartible computers only incappable completing compressing an entire compilation into readable Disk.

i think this caused by your soft ware, check setting that accept bluray disk, may be it not set to burn bluray disk

If windows XP, be sure you are the administrator of the machine.

Try to uninstall the the previous device driver of the cdrom and have it automatically detect the new drive...then retry the suite installation. pls give feedback

you want to play music or a film on the laptop and run it through the Pioneer HTZ-170DVD Region Free Home Theater System and through speakers? I don't see why not. You would use the audio out on the laptop and connect to the audio input on the Pioneer. If the laptop has HDMI, it is even easier. Here is the manual.

No. You can't play .iso files in any standalone DVD player.

If the drive doesn't read any disc's you need to reinstall the drivers and verify you have the latest version. If the drive is ONLY having trouble with Blu-ray then i'm assuming it's the player that you're using; it may not have the right Codac's etc. Also, try multiple Blu-ray movies to verify it isn't just the one movie.
