3. Enter 9, 9, 9, 9, 0
4. Close tray

Please follow the instructions below for unlocking your Philips HTS 3371

Please note: Unlocking a DVD player may invalidate the warranty. Unlock sequences may not work with some firmware updates and some DVD players have been damaged through failed attempts to unlock them. Unlocking your DVD player is done at your own risk.


1. Switch the DVD player ON
2. OPEN the disc tray
3. Key 9 9 9 9 0 using the Philips remote control supplied with the player
4. Press PLAY. The disc tray will close.
5. Switch the player OFF then switch ON again.
6. To test, play a disc from a region which was previously locked.

If it does not work the first time, switch the player off and back on, then try again.

This is a verified unlock method, but I was unable to confirm whether it works for players sold locked to Region 1 (North America). If you have a Region 1 player and the method above does not work, you will not be able to unlock your player.

Identification of the current firmware version for your device is found by: Switch on the device. 2. From the main menu, select [Settings]. 3. Select [Information]. 4. Select [Player Information]. 5. Scroll down if necessary. The current firmware version number would be displayed. I suggest you register the product to gain access to any further firmware support which according to documentation is obtained at the support site. I did the software-thing aswell, to me it did not work but..When you remove the backside of the TV, you will find a PCB/board with the powersupply and a PCB with the CPU.remember to remove the interface cable for the ambilight, before you remove the backside of the tv. you gain access to it by removing the shield around the joystik at the down right corner of the backside of the screenWhen you have removed the backside of the tv, remove the board with the CPU, remember to remove interface cables so you can turn the board around and look at the backside.When you look at the backside, you will find 3 massive thermalpads, they might be stucked on the panels backside.Thermalpads are made by silicone, among others, those pads, might be "sweathing" silicone(or whatever), during long periods of heeattransfer, so take a piece of toiletpaper, and gently remove the sweath/moist from the pad and the board.Dry the board with a hairdryer after you remove the moist on it and assemble the tv. dont forget the ambilight :)Let me know how it works.
