what do you mean it drags? I noticed if you don't pull the arm back far enough,it will turn on,but the arm will drag foward scratching your record. Try pulling it bacl ALL the way and then it should give you no problems.

The turntable on my philco cd cassette and
I had a similar issue with my Crosley turntable that I recently picked up... and after digging up the manual online all I had to do was lift up on the tone arm and move it to the right (past the holding mechanism) until it clicked, and voila, the turntable started spinning again.
I hope this helps!
How to replace the electric cord
If it is the power cord, it should be of the universal kind. If it is the RCA cables, youu will have to strip back the wires and solder the ends together matching the wire colors. Tape up with insulation tape and "bob's your uncle"

Philco american stereo system
Well since we in the UK use 240 volts and over the sea they use 120 volts, it should be no surprise why it no longer works. What the effect is couldn't be any clearer. Since most units only use around 30 volts to work, a transformer is employed to knock the mains down. These have what is known as a primary winding, this takes the mains, however the coil of wire will be designed for the mains it is going to be connected with. If it is connected to one greater they tend to burnt out. Often transformers have fuses built. However they don't tend to be replacable. So you will almost for certain need a new transformer. If you are really lucky a fuse might have been employed in the power leads going to the transformer. As long as it wasn't rated a 250 volts it could have gone and transformer is OK. BUT I WOULDN'T BANK ON IT!
Now you have an option, you could replace the transformer with the same type (which you would need to do for safety reasons) or you can get a very experinced technical person, to replace the transformer with one that will meet safety standards and have a 250 volt primary, for the UK. You can even get them that have two mains, one 250 and one 120!
If you just go for the replacement then you will still need a mains adapter.
PS There might be other damage, such as the mains switch!

HI,
The only solution to get this fixed is to get it repaired immediately or if it isunder warranty then please get it replaced.
How do you get the turntable to start turning?
A lot of turntables start moving when the arm is moved to the record start. The turntable should move when you move the arm to the edge of the platter, even with no record. If it doesn't, listen to see if the motor spins. Then lift up the platter matt to see if the belt has slipped off.
My turn tabel isnt spinning
The drive belt has come off. Open the lid. Remove the rubber mat on the platter. Remove the C-shaped clip from the center of the turntable. Lift the platter up and off. Find the flat rubber band that connects platter and the motor. Plug it in and verify that the motor turns when you press power, then standby, then phono. If the motor spins, unplug power and place the drive belt on the underside of the platter. This is not easy, but it can be done with patience. Then put the C-clip back on and replace the mat. Congrats!.
Philco suitcase turntable/ CD player: need owner's
Hello
Ok, firstly, the open and close function may not be working cause there might be a cd stuck in the trey.
To fix this you need to push a pin into the little hole near the eject button, while pushing the pin into the hole gently pull out the trey.
Otherwize, if you hear a strange sound or click when you try to eject the the cd trey, the little belt which is used to drive the eject trey out may be broken, but it is very cheap to repair.
As for the manual i am working on it, just thought i would suggest a fix for the eject function so long, will post the manual as soon as possible.
Kind regards
Andrea
