Panasonic TC-P42G25 42" 1080p Plasma TV. The set shuts down after a couple minutes but the red standby light stays on.

Question edited for clarity, full 'make model (what it is). Question moved to Panasonic model category. It is a good set, get it fixed professionally. This is generally the outcome for self repair. https://www.fixya.com/support/r29790007-repairing_own_television ..

Trying to change Panasonic settings on my model thc42hd18 tv so that it will connect to my WiFi router so I can view internet on it. Cant find Panasonic settings to do it?

It is 13 years after the end of production. We didn't have routers then! There is no wifi convertor in your old Panasonic TV. It won't work without a computer interface between the two.

What board should I change

Three blinks of the power LED indicates an over-current or over-voltage condition in one of the DC supplies of the AP board. The AP board is repairable. Therefore the use of an ohmmeter and peak-hold-voltmeter is required to determine the cause of the shutdown. An over-voltage condition is definitely a defect of the AP board. An over-current condition may be due to a short circuit located in the AP board, A board, or the LCD panel.

Hi, I have a Panasonic TC-P50S2 Viera Plasma TV that has died. Basically Iwant to know if this is worth the time and $$ to repair? Are parts available for me to DIY this?

Good make and it is an HD model with good reviews. It is about 10 years old. It really depends of if fancy a new one or not. I don't advise against home television repair. We see about 10 questions a day here of people who replace boards and still have a non working television. You need the experience and the test equipment.https://www.fixya.com/support/r29790007-repairing_own_televisionhttps://www.google.com/search?safe=off&rlz=1C1QJDB_enCA643CA644&sxsrf=ALeKk00wu8OXxqxE3KlHGB8dHyRz5U2nAQ%3A1609953102652&ei=Tu_1X9uWJ4-ytQWRk6-ACA&q=Panasonic+TC-P50S2+Viera+Plasma+review&..

WHEN PLUGGING TV IN, RED LIGHT BLINKS 10 TIMES BUT DOESNT COME ON

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://homenol.blogspot.com/ http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, [Exclude the model number] in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Most likely is the power board,so I hope you got a good one! The next would be a short on the SC board. The main digital board could be defective in mis diagnostic. Disconnect the SC board and see if the blink code changes. if it changes, the main board is good. If you have a good power board,I vote for a short on the SC board to be checked

Light green stripe down the middle ...

This fault is most likely caused by the plasma panel itself, which would be prohibitively to replace. I suggest contacting Panasonic service and tell them about your problem. I have known Panasonic to be very good in the past, often still helping out even when the item is out of warranty.

That probably won't work. You'll have that problem until you get a new TV.

If you are using a direct Cat5/6 cable connection between the unit and the modem, you should not have to enter any codes as this is a direct communication from one device to the other. If you were using Wi-Fi Wireless, ye; then you need codes to authenticate the connection.

I will be the barer of bad news. your Panel is failing. Plasma TVs are only made to last 5-7 years. 10-12 is more realistic from what I have seen. The TH46pz85u is a great model of TV but when that starts happening it means the panel is beginning to fail. Replacing the panel is cost prohibitive and they don't even make them anymore. You will be wise to spend your money on a new TV. newer TV's are much more power efficient as well. your 46" TV draws a lot of electricity. Your TV draws almost 650Watts of power. A comparably sized TV today(55" or larger) Draws around 200 watts. Significantly less.
