there are a few versions of DTS. if you are enabling DTS HD master on the menu for a blu ray disc this only outputs through the HDMI port not optical. This goes with all the new versions of DTS. If it is just DTS 5.1 it should go through. Make sure you have all the latest updates for your PS3. Make sure you are enabling DTS in the PS3 menu for optical out.( i dont own one so i dont know the menu at all) I just want to help. I hope this helps alittle and good luck with this.

It could be broken and is not working anymore and you will have to purchase another one.

The normally have screws on the base hidden under the rubber feet. If you open it up though, apart from blown capacitors, you are not going to be able to see what has failed. I believe its worn out..the capacitors are aging. Probly cost mor tafix then new items

Will need to know more info... will it light up or is all power failing? Are you using a remote or the buttons on the side?

You have a problem with the power supply or audio amp section. Most likely shorted audio output transistors.

Get the Service Manual and get out all your test equipment and start checking ICs, Capacitors, Triacs, Diodes and Resisters. Then replace the faulty parts. Or take it to a Panasonic Service Centre.

If no battery door on this it is likely snapped together(the whole unit).You should notice a seam all around the side and it would be in the middle of the side, careful prying may allow you to open it in two pieces where you would be able to see the batteries.
