Remove the belt from the pulley under the machine.
check shaft and thrust bearing for damage. If good, go back to top of machine and take out the agitator.
check shaft splines for condition in agitator and shaft, if all ok, rotate shaft with slip pliers or the like and if you rotate it and get grinding noise your transmission is bad and needs to be replaced.
my thoughts are the 1980 machine has had a good life and it's time for a new machine.
Good Luck,
Gary

Might be a silly question, but did you or anyone else in house maybe accidentally turn off the water supply to dishwasher?
Ok if not, how clean is your water supply? Do you have rust particles etc in your water? Is your house a new construction? You might just have debis blocking the screen in your hose to the dishwasher.
turn off water supply to dishwasher take off hose at back of washer and check screen. If clean, and water supply is good then
(assuming you checked in the dishwasher and there is no water in the washer) you have a number of possibilities.
simplest is the electric water valve is bad and needs replaced.
hardest is a computer board/relay is bad.
both problems need electrical testers and knowledge how to use them. If you have both go ahead if not call a repair person.
Good Luck,
Gary

Though there are many areas that do screen printing, a company does do printable shirts, and seeing that they do it mainly as a business, I'm sure you can buy in bulk. They have many locations through the world such as Canada, the US, Mexico, Europe and other areas. They're very popular, while I was going through shirts I saw the same manufacturer over and over again, even shirts that I have gotten from different countries too. If you would like to contact them their about t-shirts.

There are 2 6 cylinder engines for that year. Both are the same as far as wiring/firing order but gave you both anyway(see below). There have been times that I thought I did the same thing as far as the firing order and have been doing it for 25+ years. Sometime i did and sometimes I didn't. So if you find the wiring is correct and you seem to have a miss, In about 90 percent of the time that this has happened to me I had knock a vacuum hose off so you might want to start there if they are right. It sure sounded like a miss at those times but was vacuum. There are other factors but that's where I would start if this is the case. I hope this helps and good luck.
