It may not function without a suitable harddisk and one fit for the limitations of the BIOS version. When it is on PATA cables, then make sure the Master/Slave jumper is set and the cable its longer end is on the motherboard controller. Beeps usually give an error code, where a long beep may indicate that a harddisk wasn't found. The very short and almost silent beep means the memory can be tested prior to boot. Perhaps the memory is unfit or displaced. When any of this does not help you may need some-one on site to take a look at it. PSU's can be diagnosed with a tester plug and those don't have to cost much.

The short answer is that the battery is bad. Replace it. Lion batteries cannot sit for more than 2 years without a "refresher" charge.

Try checking the CMOS battery

Go to Control Panel then look for Ease of Access - Click on Change how your keyboard works. - Uncheck where it says Turn on Sticky Keys and click OK.
