i believe protect mode is because you have the wrong impedence speakers, they are too low (4 ohm? 6 ohm?) it chols work with 8 ohm speakers

You need to check several voltages
(1)-VP
(2)FLAC1 and FLAC2
(3)drive signals to FL needs a digital storage oscilloscope to observe waveform. Or replace chip directly.
This is a full picture.

"Tone Control is not working when I push the button but the light will go on and off." Download TX8511 service manual. Tone control circuit involving balance, bass and treble circuit is defective. Check circled componets or replace them all. If replacing them all, balance circuit should also be replaced.

"I accidentally touched a speaker wire to the metal spikes on the bottom of my speaker. " This action makes +B voltage (positive voltage) short to ground. You may assume 2 power transistors mounted on a large heat sink are defective. Now try to remenber which speaker terminals was accidentially shorted. Then check this terminal or you should check all power transistors mounted on the heat sink, by measuring the collector and emitter resistance. Normal value is Mega ohms and all white 3 pins resistor with 0.22ohm should also be checked if they are open( infinity resistance).I have tried to reset it several times to no avail. Of course, due to defective power transistors. Is my receiver done? Yes. I wrote detailed troubleshooting steps used in onkyo service dept. a year ago, just find it out in my answers.210cda21-872d-438d-949c-2196ccf76712.jpg

" I have an Onkyo tx-nr807. It stopped putting out sound and where it shows all the speakers that are on, the subwoofer light is flashing. " If speaker indicators are on, you should check DIR and speaker relay drive voltage if +24V is present.

replace the volume knob but check the volume control IC first such as voltage and whether an analog signals come out by an oscilloscope.

and " lost remote " Check if the onkyo remote is working, by:
(1)point a mobile or a smart phone camera at an onkyo remote control.
(2)Don't take any photo.
(3)Now the remote picture is on the mobile or smart screen.
(4)Press any remote control key.
(5)White flashing light can be seen if remote is ok.

Your replacement remote (control) is not functionally equivalent to the other.

First the OS must be win 7 or above; XP does not
support bit streaming. Second, display card or motherboard on board display card must support
bit streaming. Third the software must also support bit streaming.

“Hi, Onkyo TX SR 705 have a super cap for memory presets ou eeprom?? ”
Yes, it may have a 5.5V cap with 0.1F for memory to use .When the power is down and it loose the presets, whats the problem?? Tks
Don't worry, it will be charged up when the amp is On. The longer the time it is on, the longer the time it charged. For your case, replace the cap mentioned above can fix the problem. I will post the photo later.

After checking the onkyo TX-SR705 service manual, however, I did not find any capacitor of 5.5V 0.1F on the schematics. The EEPROM is powered by a polar capacitor. See photo.

Step of repairing
(1)Download the onkyo TX-SR 705 service manual.
(2)Find out the EEPROM located at Main Microprocessor Unit.
(3)Replace the capacitors of epprom
(4)If the problem doesn't solve, copy
all data form the old EEPROM by a SPI EPPOM reader.
(5)Buy a new SAME MODEL EEPROM and copy the old data to
the new one.
(6)remove the old defective one from the circuit board
(7)put the new one with data copied to the circuit board.7abf1fe5-29df-4e3d-98b4-8e2ba153ec59.jpg

Hello Hasnul, for what you comment, it is very possible that the integrated circuit has been burned, that works with the Front System A output and you have to replace it, the Front System B output, works with another integrated amplifier circuit, which is working well
If you have technical knowledge, I send you the link to download the Service Manual of your Onkio and know which integrated circuit to replace
But, I suggest you look for a specialized technical service
I hope you can solve the problem, comment the results
Greetings Franco Dosil

“DX-C390 and vocals are drowned out by instruments.” Problem may come from opital pickup and digital decode board(DSP & DAC)Download service manual and check waveform. You should clean optial pickup first with soft cloth to remove dust and water film to see if problem fixed.

Hello Scott, to be able to guide you, in wiring so that you can have everything in your home theater system, you should comment that equpos you have
I can suggest a generic connection to have the sound of each source in Tu Onkyo
You have to connect the equipment that has HDMI output, in the corresponding entries in your Onkyo, accounts with only three inputs, if you have more than three equipment with HDMI, you can connect it to an HDMI input on the TV
If you have other equipment that does not have an HDMI output, you should connect it to the remaining inputs of the Onkyo, according to its type
Then, you connect an HDMI-HDMI cable from the HDMI output of the Onkyo, to the HDMI 1 input, of the TuTV Insignia
And you also have to have a Fiber Optic cable, connected from the digital audio output of the TV (it is located on the side panel of connections) to the Fiber Optic input (Digital In) n ° 1 of the Onkyo, this connection allows you to listen to the sound on the Onkyo of everything you are looking for on the Internet, eg Netflix, YouTube, etc.
In this way you would already have everything connected in the Onkio and you could enjoy the sound of the Home Cinema System
I hope you manage to interconnect everything and you can enjoy a good sound and an excellent image
I send you the links of the user manuals of TV Insignia and Onkyo, in case you need more information
Greetings Franco Dosil

Connect the line out terminals to the line input on your PC using a phono to stereo jack lead. Then use an audio recording program to record from the line input.
