Can we use A and B speakers at the same time in Onkyo TX-DS747?

On that model you cannot listen to channels A and B at the same time . If you do want to hook up both make sure you series wire them ....hook the positive "+" of speaker "A" to the amp "+", then connect the neg "-" of "A" to the "+" of speaker " B " and then the "-" of "B" to the "-" of the amp . This is because the amp only supports 6 to 16 ohm loads . Please search series vs parallel speaker wiring on Google and look at the image diagrams if you have any confusion about it

I accidentally touched a speaker wire to the metal spikes on the bottom of my speaker. My Onkyo TX-NR757 now reads NG : L R BLBR. I had it biamped so I assume it is both amps. I have tried to reset it several times to no avail. Is my receiver done ?

"I accidentally touched a speaker wire to the metal spikes on the bottom of my speaker. " This action makes +B voltage (positive voltage) short to ground. You may assume 2 power transistors mounted on a large heat sink are defective. Now try to remenber which speaker terminals was accidentially shorted. Then check this terminal or you should check all power transistors mounted on the heat sink, by measuring the collector and emitter resistance. Normal value is Mega ohms and all white 3 pins resistor with 0.22ohm should also be checked if they are open( infinity resistance).I have tried to reset it several times to no avail. Of course, due to defective power transistors. Is my receiver done? Yes. I wrote detailed troubleshooting steps used in onkyo service dept. a year ago, just find it out in my answers.210cda21-872d-438d-949c-2196ccf76712.jpgFor your case, DET. PROTECT: I instead if entering debug mode.forum.php-1foajingjd1ngrzzacwcq31h-2-2.jpeg NG L R BL BR, This amp is under DC protect.

Hi, Onkyo TX SR 705 have a super cap for memory presets ou eeprom?? When the power is down and it loose the presets, whats the problem?? Tks

“Hi, Onkyo TX SR 705 have a super cap for memory presets ou eeprom?? ”Yes, it may have a 5.5V cap with 0.1F for memory to use .When the power is down and it loose the presets, whats the problem?? Tks Don't worry, it will be charged up when the amp is On. The longer the time it is on, the longer the time it charged. For your case, replace the cap mentioned above can fix the problem. I will post the photo later. After checking the onkyo TX-SR705 service manual, however, I did not find any capacitor of 5.5V 0.1F on the schematics. The EEPROM is powered by a polar capacitor. See photo. Step of repairing (1)Download the onkyo TX-SR 705 service manual.(2)Find out the EEPROM located at Main Microprocessor Unit.(3)Replace the capacitors of epprom(4)If the problem doesn't solve, copy all data form the old EEPROM by a SPI EPPOM reader.(5)Buy a new SAME MODEL EEPROM and copy the old data to the new one. (6)remove the old defective one from the circuit board(7)put the new one with data copied to the circuit board.7abf1fe5-29df-4e3d-98b4-8e2ba153ec59.jpg

ONKYO TX-DS575 No sound in the center speaker.

No, wd40, "please" first try checking the solder connections, 9 times out of 10 it's bad solder connections. Not every issue with older Electronics is Cap related!!! Onkyo is super easy to repair like I mentioned earlier, check the solder connections first, also check the ribbons, unplug the clean the contacts with DeOxit5, if you still need help, don't hesitate to contact me, good luck!!!
