You may have paper stuck in the blades and its jamming.try forward and reverse to free it up or you may have the head unit on the can faced the wrong way. Pull it out and turn head around and than try. I know on some shredders if the head unit does not fit on the right way it wount push down the safety switch and it wount run.

Strip the currers out and the motor assembly, remove the sensor and replace it with identical item. Re build and test. Or buy a new one, they are not expensive.

check the warranty period and if within that period take it back for warranty repair or a new one

no we don't sell anything there is something stuck in the blades in the middle of the cutters there is a small plastic lever that is the micro switch for the forward action . paper is stuck and that lever is now not operating the microswitch to drive the cutter motor either that or the lever has broken off, again not activating the micro switch If you want repairs or warranty , contact the manufacturer direct by phone

There is a light sensor that is blocked by the paper that tells the machine to turn on when paper is loaded for shredding, it is most likely blocked with debris for a previous shredding.

Some of these units use plastic gears on the shredders and motors. They can strip or it could be a shear pin on the drive shaft or gears that breaks when something hard is put in the machine.
