There are several reasons why could happen: 1. 2GB is a lot of space compared to 16MB. The camera checks the card each time you switch it on. 2. Card is corrupt & should be reformatted. 3. Card is defective & should be replaced.

are you trying to download your photos onto your computer if so you can take the sd card out and put it in your computer slot for sd and download them from there. or you can go onto computer and download the software for that camera.
