Note the words Light Duty. Something was shredded that damaged the mechanism. Oiling was not the cure. No amount of tinkering will save it.

I need to reconfigure my

If you recently replaced your cable modem, it is most likely that your cable modem is setup as your router. You will need to access the cable modem directly and have it set to bridge mode where it only passes the straight signal to your router. Most people do not use an external router so cable modems are automatically set to be the router as well, thus making them a Gateway modem. The commands to do this sometimes are not available on the regular login and you might have to have a tech login under their special credentials which give higher access levels. Your router should simply start to work fine once this is done because the cable modem will disable all routing and firewalls and leave them up to your personal router. If you plug in a laptop directly to the cable modem and can access the internet, google whatsmyip and find out if your IP starts with a 10 or a 192. If it does, you have verified that your cable modem is doing the routing and needs to be changed to bridged mode.

I bought an hp 2211x

It is possible they aren't compatible but it is more likely the outfit you bought has something missing. Sometimes the speakers are integrated into the monitor but the connection to these is by a separate audio cable from the PC. If the speakers aren't integrated into the monitor you will need a suitable active speaker system that should arrive with a power supply and all other leads ready wired and just need plugging into the PC. Consulting the instruction manual is a good way of learning where to plug things in. Most conventional PCs have three jack sockets close together and some are usefully colour coded - One is audio out and another is audio in but I can't remember the third. It is possible your new PC is entirely USB and has many USB sockets but few of the more familiar sockets. If that is the case you will need a pair of USB speakers.,, I suggest you contact the supplier for advice...

Ativa shredder X1800 - shredder does not respond. green light present. Reverse works fine. I killed it with too much shredded paper.

Unplug it. Lift the shredder unit off the catch-bucket. Remove any paper caught in the blades. You may need needle-nose pliers to pull jammed paper out from between the cutters.

I placed less than 12 sheets of paper in the ativa 1250 shredder. it's reading overload. can you help?

The problem seems to be the plastic gears and/or bearing supports. Unless it is in warranty, it's going to cost you more to repair than replace, and even then Ativa's customer service is not the best and neither are their shredders: I suggest you look at http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/ativa-paper-shredder-c31646.html?page=2

Can a shredder wont goforward be repaired

Most jams are pretty much the same. First, try running the blades in REVERSE, that is done by using the on/off, selector switch. If that does not solve the problem, Unplug the unit from the electrical, remove the top part from the basket. Pull out as much of the paper from the top and bottom that you can. Replace the unit on the basket (make sure it is facing in the correct direction) and squirt, or lightly pour mineral oil (or machine oil, or something like WD-40) directly on the rollers and let it absorb into the remaining paper for a few minutes then try running the unit. If the motor does not come on, there is a fuse inside the machine that may need to be replaced. Once you have solved the problem, you should oil the blades after every hour of use, it really makes it easier on the blades. Also, there is an internal "heat switch" in the machine that will shut it down for about 90 minutes if the motor gets to hot. It is a safety factor in case you get something stuck, like a person wearing a tie, etc. After the machine has cooled down, turn the on/off switch to off and then back to on. .

"How do you empty the shredded paper"

Hi Rita, usually the collection try is not any sort of tricky step, so you may have to do as you have mentioned, and force it alittle. Use only your muscle power and hands. If you introduce other tools, bad things may happen. Good Luck

But i can not see anithing the backward is working ok

That is not always sufficient to clear it. Unplug from mains, and lift off top and place upside down. Use a small screwdriver and/or long nosed pliers to poke at any compressed paper wrapped around the blades - can take a while. It may be that the sensors are dirty - use a cotton bud dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the sensor light(s) and heads Give a quick spray to cutters with WD40 Replace - turn on - and run in reverse.

I have jb01 and can nott see any sensor no light no switch

There are 2 methods. One is a mechanical arm that is lifted by the paper. More often there is an LED light at one end of the ffeed to the cutters, and a sensor at the other end. It may be that the sensors are dirty - use a cotton bud dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the sensor light(s) and heads Give a quick spray to cutters with WD40 Replace - turn on - and run in reverse.

Dead no noise

First check the powe point is still working - plug in another appliance, like a table lamp. If OK check the fuse in the shredder cable plug. The commonest reason for a shredder stopping is a paper jam, or running the shredder for too long. By 'too long', many shredders will cut-out after 5 minutes continuous working, and the sensor may take 15 minutes to cool down! Read the manual.

Ativia hd pro 1400 wont turn on

Check the plug and fuse. Check that mains socket is live with another appliance. It maybe that the shredder cutters are jammed. Unplug from mains, and lift off top and place upside down. Use a small screwdriver and/or long nosed pliers to poke at any compressed paper wrapped around the blades - can take a while. Wile you are there, use a cotton bud dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the sensor light(s) and heads Give a quick spray to cutters with WD40 Replace - turn on - and run in reverse. If all else fails, contact the maker
