The heating element may have burned out - do you know anyone who can test it? It may possibly also have a thermal fuse inside - that's not something you can easily replace, but it's cheaper to have someone replace that then to have them replace the heating element.

I standard 40-watt appliance bulb will do the trick.

My Nostalgia Ice maker shows low water, but there is water up to the fill line.
