You must observe 3 things: Open the cover from motor 1) See if the Drive belt or belt for motor is Loose? if does, adjust the 2 bolts for tension belt motor the deflection will be 1/8" 2) or Too tight loose the 2 bolts , and loose little until you have deflection for 1/8" and tight the bolts again, keeping the deflection for 1/8" 3) See if the belt is Cut!! replace it, by new one. It probably has to do with the belt overheating the motor and irritating your controller. Try replacing the walking belt.

The motor is fine, you need and new walking belt and possibly a deck.

To have a washer between the wire and the screw is always a good idea to prevent damage to the wire when fastening it. Make sure it cant get loose.

The treadmill is set for kilometers, not miles. With the stop button pressed, insert the safety key/magnet. This will display miles (or Kms) and hours of use. There will also be a "M" for metric or "E" for english, or miles. Use the speed up/down buttons to adjust to "E".
