Have you tried using other usb cable? or using other usb slot?

try using other cable or usb slot, it can be that the problem is in either one of them.

To transfer you files from phone to pc without using a cable, you can use the bluetooth technology. You can buy a bluetooth for your pc then send your files thru it.

Or if your files in the memory card, you can just buy a card reader then use if to get the files you wanter. The memory card will only act like a flashdisk.
