Power down the computer
Remove the battery
Run the computer on mains power
Close down the computer
Unplug from the mains
Press and HOLD the Power button for a FULL 2 minutes.
Insert the battery, plug into the mains and power on.
If that doesn't fix it, you need a digital multimeter to check the battery charger unit is providing voltage at the connector plug, typically 11.1 volts or 14.8 volts, to as much as 19 volts.
Another possibility is that the power connection port has dry joints or damage to the motherboard connector through constant use.

Have you tried setting allowSceneActivation property to false? (AsyncOperation.allowSceneActivation). That will prevent the scene from activating, and I would think you can just load another scene, and then set back the property to true.
