Scanner works fine EXCEPT I cannot see how to get
Greetings,
Let me first offer the scanner manual:
http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/scanners/LS8000_en.pdf
Starting at page 56, it shows you how to load the holder and the direction to insert it into the scanner.
Starting at page 62, the manual covers the Nikon Scan application... Check out section 3 on page 64. This section explains how to scan more than one image from the holder.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need further clarification.
Most of the time my Nikon 5000 works well.
Hi, I have the same problem. I am running on the same computer with the same software Nikon Scan without problems. Found out that the problem happens mostly when a crop is selected that just eliminates the scanning frame. Without crop mostly OK. However no reason why and no real solution
Coolscan 3 and Windows XP
Try a good scanner program called vuescan. Much better than Nikon software. I have been using on XP for a long time and no problems

Hi,
So, you tried to reinstall the drivers ?
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...reitem=sj655czCan you see the scanner in Device Manager? Click on Start, right click on My Computer, then choose Properties... . Click on the Hardware tab, then click on Device Manager. Look for any ?'s or !'s that you see. Or, check for the scanner under Imaging Devices. Do you at least see the scanner device? If you do, then you've at least narrowed it down to perhaps an application issue.
What
error messages do you get when you try to scan?
Thanks
Unsharp scans
Sometimes this is caused by scanning a Kodachrome or thick emulsion slide on the "Positive" setting. Set it to Kodachrome and try again.
Sometimes this is caused by dust on the reflector mirror. I know it was a big problem here.
Ifyour scanner is under warranty, you can ship it in to have itcleaned to their service center, or if not, you can give it a shot yourself. Iwould only do this if you are a mechanically inclined person and arewilling to do it RIGHT. Here's a link to instructions:
http://www.pearsonimaging.com/articles/howto/ls5000cleaning.htmlIrecommend reading through it at least once before beginning, and makesure you've got the materials you need on hand as well as a cleanworkspace. It worked on our machines. I give them a once over every so often to keep them sharp.

Dell laptop wont recognize ls2000 scanner
The LS-2000 is a "legacy" device to XP and the Nikon software. It needs to be connected to a true SCSI bus adapter, and it's actually pretty finicky about which ones will work in XP. Sorry, you won't be able to use this with your laptop.
Nikon LS-2000 scanner gives error 0x04620000
Stepper Motor Failures
Within
the first 6 months of purchase I had to return the scanner twice to
replace the stepper motor. The symptoms of stepper motor failure are a
loud grinding noise during scanning followed by the enlightening
message:
"The scanner has reported a hardware error. The present function cannot be continued. Sense: 0x04620000"
service required to fix stepper motor
Virus Problem
What are your symptoms? What I mean is, how do you know you are infected with viruses?
Many times problems stem not from viruses, but malware like adware and spyware. These malicious programs can be detected and removed using anti-spyware programs like MalwareBytes and SUPERAnti-Spyware.
You can download them here:
