Nikon Office Equipment & Supplies - Popular Questions, Answers, Tips & Manuals
My scanner is not being recognized by my PC. I
try right clicking on the unit , click on properties, click on compatibility, tick box click on win xp, apply and ok
next click on details , drivers , update drivers
it will be a communication problem that has occurred in the programs between the scanner and the winxp operatibg system
Camera going into standby
If you mean that the power save time is very short. you can edit it at the properties of scanner.
But if you mean that the camera stop like hang after scan the first picture it may be from USB Cable or you have more than one installed driver on your PC & there is a conflict between it.
How do I remove the photo cartridge from the camera
Removing Memory Cards
Before removing memory cards, turn the camera off
and confirm that the power-on lamp and monitor are
off. Open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover
and press the card in to partially eject the card. The
card can then be removed by hand. Do not attempt to
remove the card at an angle.
Nikon coolscan 5000ed, film stuck, will not eject
If you switch off the scanner you should then be able to remove the grey film holder, even though the film strip will still be inside. Then, press the small button above the film entry slit to open the front of the holder. Pull up the top cover, ease the bright metal holder strip forward then lift the metal flap that holds down the film strip. At this point you should be able to remove the film strip. Re=assemble and try again.
Good luck.

Scanner doesn't recognise their is a slide loaded in the slide holder
The first thing I'd try is to run the scanner with the Nikon software. When you power on the scanner it goes through a variety of checks, and finally you should have a silent scanner with a solid green light at the front. Start the Nikon software and wait until it finds the scanner, if it doesn't you have a hardware problem with the scanner.
If it goes well to this point insert a card or plastic mounted slide and hit Preview. The scanner should then create and image you see on screen. Next step would be to make a scan. If the slide you're trying to scan isn't card or plastic mounted you'll need the Nikon made carrier.
Hope this helps.
I do not get a preview image
and more importantly, your personal experienceMindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it's better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story, since I can cert

During slide scanning, after performing auto focus
First suggestion would be to connect scanner to another PC to see if the problem persists. Might also help to try to scan with alternative material (mix if slides and negatives) to narrow down where the issue lies. You could also play with features such as Digital ICE on and off.
I'm afraid if none of these produce a functioning scanner you will need to contact Nikon to arrange a repair. There is really nothing the typical user can do to fix these machines at home.
Differences between right click and double click
In Windows based system, the double click (of the left mouse button) selects an icon and send the run or execute command. The right click (of the right mouse button) opens up contextual menu options, i.e. menu options that are related to what you are doing on the windows that has the focus.: if it is a disk it may offer you the choice to explore, format, erase. For an executable file it might offer you to run it, or to delete it, etc.
