Black Screen

Do more internet searches of your model. Sounds like the sensor chip died. Pretty expensive part. Could have not liked the salty environment or you are just unlucky. Do the search until you give up as there is a lot of info on internet. Cameras are getting pretty cheap now so if it is a little old or cheaper model, you may do better with a forced "upgrade".

Nikon Coolpix S1 won't read card.

I am confused. If you can FORMAT the SD card when it is in the camera (FORMAT is successful) you SHOULD be able to use it.

How do you reset nikon s6000 to factory settings?

In the tool menu (wrench) you should be able to find this. Make sure you really want to do this before you reset the camera... you cannot go back after a reset.

Pics gone in DCIM folder. Using a Nikon s3000

You cannot create new folders on an SD card and copy images to them, as the camera will not recognise them, since they were not create in the camera. Copy the entire contents of the card to a folder on your HDD, then format the card in the camera.

Why are my pictures blurry? The camera is a nikon coolpix s4000.

They are either out of focus or suffering from camera shake - check the camera settings. Another possibility is foreign matter adhering to the lens.

Camera is slow

Use a faster SD card. The write speed number is what you look for. The greater the number the better the card.

Fuzzy Images

There is insufficient light indoors, so the camera is selecting a slow shutter speed, which is causing camera shake, hence the 'fuzziness'.
