2. I am assuming you want to use the phone with a Boost Mobile sim card because otherwise it doesn't matter if you unlock it cause it won't work with any other cell phone company.

3. In order to unlock it you are going to need a data cable and the unlock code.

The battery is readily available online or through any Motorola 2-way radio dealer. You can use part number NTN8971 or NNTN4190 NiMH battery. The phone should also accommodate 4 AA batteries instead of the NiMH battery. However, during a Google search it appears several vendors still have these available for just over $7 US dollars.The i550 was a primary phone used in the iDEN Nextel system. It operates on 800 MHz and likely needs to be connected to a system to work. I do not know if it will work as a 2-way radio without being connected to a system. The type of system these were used on has been completely or for the most part shut down.
