My memory craft 2000 new home sewing maching is suddenly sewing very slowly

Is it an older mechanical machine (not computerized)? Bet it needs a good oiling. Old oil will dry out and turn to glue/varnish and actually prevents parts from moving and dragging on the motor. Use only fresh good quality sewing machine oil or Tri-Flow Synthetic Lube. Open the top, left side, and bottom of the machine. Slightly rock the handwheel and apply 1-2 drops of oil every place metal rubs on metal. Do NOT oil rubber, leather, or synthetic/nylon parts. If it is still sluggish, you can direct hot air from a handheld hairdryer into the interior mechanics of the machine to help loosen things. Older machines do need frequent oiling--ie, every time a new sewing project is begun or every six months if not in use. If a large project like a quilt, more frequent oiling may be needed. When you become familiar with the pleasing sound of a well-running machine, you will recognize when it needs some TLC. ...

New home combi

First, be sure to have the presser foot in the RAISED position when threading the machine. When threading the tension disks, give each thread an extra little tug to make sure it is seated completely. Start with brand new needles. Be sure to thread the machine in the order recommended for the machine--most machines are 1) upper looper, 2) lower looper and the thread tail drapes over the upper looper, then 3) the needles. Pull all of the thread tails toward the back of the machine and under the presser foot. Start out with the tension disks set at the midway point--this is the general tension for basic overlocking, but each machine is different and they may need to be tweaked to get them where they look best. Perhaps you can find a manual. How do I thread bobbin and needle on a New Home 656A

New Home is no longer a brand name but you can find some basic instructions online. HINT: It usually helps to raise the presser foot during the threading process--allows the tension disk to release so the thread will seat properly. Perhaps this will help: http://www.sewusa.com/Sewing_Machine_Threading_Diagrams.htm Although it does not show your model, a lot of models operated similarly except some had more options, ie embroidery stitches, etc. New Home Model 532 Sewing Machine Threading Diagram Here's a manual for a 539:http://www.archive.org/details/NewHome539SewingMachineOwnersManual.....

Need an operator manual for a New Home Sewing machine Model SL-2022

You can purchase a manual for the SL-2022 from Sew USA: http://www.sewusa.com/Sewing_Machine_Manuals/New_Home_Manuals/New_Home_2022_Instruction_Manual.htm or from Sew4Less: http://www.sew4less.com/product/561/New_Home_SL2022_Instruction_Manual . Since Janome no longer has the manual for this machine, you can't download it from their retired machine's manual page. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells (Janome owns the New Home brand name.)

Machine dropping stitches

Skipped stitches 1. A bent or dull needle 2. The wrong needle for your fabric knit fabrics require a jersey or ballpoint tip. Most wovens do well with a universal tip, and specialty fibers, like leather or metallic, usually require specific needles. 3. Incorrect machine threading 4. Unbalanced needle thread tension Start by making relatively small changes and run a test stitch to evaluate the impact. If you need to adjust the tension dial using woven cotton fabric with good quality all-purpose thread and a new needle 5.check the needle is inserted correctly. The needle needs to be pushed as far up the needle shaft as possible. It's easy to insert the needle half way, clamp it down and think it is inserted correctly. the flat part of the needle should be positioned towards the back. If the needle is not inserted correctly, it will not be able to pull up the bobbin thread and will cause skipped stitches. 6. If the suggestions don't help then it is time for a tune-up.

Why won't my new home super stretch stitch model-844 pick up bobbin thread to sew manual book

If you need a manual, search the internet for: Make + Model + the word "Manual" or contact the manufacturer. Try installing a brand new needle. A bent needle sometimes will not connect properly. Be sure that both upper and bobbin threads are threaded correctly. On the other hand, the needle/hook could be out of time. You can check that by hand turning the handwheel and watching the needle/hook movement. There are a multitude of web sites and videos that discuss timing. Or--check with a sewing machine technician. ...
