Reset the wireless by pushing and holding the RESET button, this will reset to default settings. Then you can reconfigure the SSID and Security. Take a look at this: http://www.routerpasswords.com/

If you reset the wireless device you can change the SSID and security code.

Hey, the Netopia routers do not have a default username and password. If a password is already set up, you might need to reset the router.

In order to log into the router you need to Telnet into it.
If you are using Windows XP, you can start Telnet from Start>Accessories>Communications>Telnet

if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, Telnet is not enabled by default. You need to enable it first. You can quickly re-enable Telnet by following these steps:

Start
Control Panel
Programs And Features
Turn Windows features on or off
Check Telnet Client
Hit OK

After that you can start Telnet via Command Prompt. (or the Start menu)

then once you get into the Telnet Console, type in:
192.168.1.1

and the router interface will open up and let you chanfge settings.

There is no security on a wireless receiver. Security is set on the wireless Access Point or router. Check your router documentation or talk to the person who manages the wireless network you want to connect to.

If I misunderstand your question please let me know and we take it form there.

You don't need the cd. Just go to http://192.168.1.254 to configure the modem. This is from http://www.motorola.com/web/Home/Products/Voice-and-Data-CPE/xDSL-Modems-IADS-and-Gateways/2247-N8_Netopia/_Documents/StaticFiles/Netopia_2247-N8=_User_Manual.PDF?pLibItem=1

You shouldn't need drivers or software to access the router. Type the IP address into you web browser and you should be able to access any setting for it. My suggestions would be to talk to your provider and see if they have a newer model. That is long since a discontinued item online.

You reset the router. that means router is set on factory default.settings has been changed now that's why connection manager is not responding properly. Now you have the run setup CD and set the router again.

Sounds to me that you have the internal firewall enabled in the router and haven't built ports or 'pin holes' to allow your ps3 to access the network through the gateway. If you know how to navigate the router's advanced setup page then the easiest option is to set it from either of the two available options for firewall security to the third option of 'clear sailing' . This is assuming that it's not just the router itself and other devices are able to connect without problem. The Netopia 3347 doesn't allow for NAT changing from type 2 or 3 which, despite what you may read, doesn't hinder gaming or speech, unless you go deep into the provisioning and are using it for vpn or as a bridge. I hope this is understandable and can at least point you in the right direction because this is one of the absolute BEST routers ever 'given away' with ADSL service from BellSouth/AT&T.

Start up the computer using the original operating system installation disk. Re-install all the drivers, and programs.

VERY IMPORTANT to install a quality virus scanner. The paid ones such as McAfee or Symantec, or the equivalent are strongly recommended. The free ones are not usually well supported and they will not guarantee up to date tables.

DO NOT install hacked, or pirate, or software hacks, Most of these carry Trojans. That is their catch. Take care of the web sites that are visited. Use common sense to keep the computer clean.

There are some worms and viruses that can do permanent hardware damage. If this has happened to your computer, service will be required.

Try Password: admin, 1234, serial number of unit (written underneath)

Or you could connect to it with a Ethernet Cable and open web browser and go to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.1.254 and you can access settings from there and change WEP password.

Last resort, just use the reset button on the unit.
