How to repair

Gears probably locked up in motor unit. Best to just replace the entire motor unit with a new one. Part number 1609714468, $21.57.http://www.lrnelson.com/replacement-parts/

The front wheel assembly seems to be 'inside out'..the teeth are on the inside therefore it does not fit over the hose, and will not stay on. How do you remove and turn the white plastic wheel

You will need to pry off the cap nut on the end of the shaft (which runs through the two wheel halves. The ONLY tool that will do this is a vice grip and a couple of beers. Also, swearing seems to help.Clamp the vice grips on tight and rock it back and forth. You will need to get a replacement cap nut from your local hardware. You can purchase a complete, new front wheel assembly from Nelson for $12.35. Why won't my sprinkler turn. The water comes out fine, but it won't rotate. Mine is a plastic model, and I can't figure out how to get inside.

1) Use a 5/16 nut driver (or flat screwdriver) and remove 5 screws holding body to motor assembly.2) Use pliers to hold the worm bearing assembly where the tee screws in. Hold worm bearing and remove tee.3) Use a 3/8 inch allen wrench to remove the worm bearing assembly. The allen wrench is placed in the same hole where the tee was located. (Removing the worm bearing assembly allows you to separate the upper motor housing from the lower housing.) Use care when removing the top and bottom halves as sometimes the small flat washers tends to fall off the shaft when you open sections. When screwing worm bearing assembly into the lower motor housing, you are screwing brass into plastic. If over tightened, the housing will split. Rule of thumb: tighten until it feels snug then go a 1/4 of a turn.

HI, I am not sure what is wrong with my tractor sprinkler. It is like it has lost pressure, the arms do not turn as fast or spray out as much any more? It waters in a circle with just the outer 4

I would guess that the grease has gotten old. You need to open the motor unit, clean the old grease off the gears and use a light, non-petroleum grease on the gears.I had gotten extra years out of my old one by doing this, but bit the bullet and replaced the motor this year. A new motor is currently $21.57 at the Nelson website.http://www.lrnelson.com/replacement-parts/

How can I get the wheels off my nelson traveling sprinkler?

The ONLY tool that will take these little buggers off is a pair of old-fasioned vice grips. I found swearing helps as well as a good supply of Bud Light.Clamp them on reallllly tight and rock back and forth. (Err the caps, not you).
