They are a pain. Just clamp on with a pair of vise grips & rock back & forth. Once you get a little slack under them then try a claw hammer. Just like pulling a nail. If you ruin it they carry them at Home Depot or Lowes in the hardware area. Just like what holds the wheels on a wagon or bbq grill. I can't remember what dia the axle is. If you don't have calipers just use a open end wrench to find the shaft size.
