NAD C370 distortion

Check first if you got +68/-68V on amp module left and right on contact CZ302 and CZ402 pin 2 & 7. Often the -68V is missing. This is caused by faulty transistor Q713 in +68/-68V power supply. It's a 2SA872.

I have a nad 3130 amplifier which has been in storage for sometime. I've plugged it in and I have no power to the amp.

If the fuses are good....do this..... 1...unplug the amp from the wall AND KEEP IT UNPLUGGED !!! 2 Turn the power switch on ( again , the amp is UNPLUGGED from the wall ) 3 with an ohm meter or a multimeter set on ohms., measure the ohms across the ac cord that plugs into the wall....in other words...take one meter lead and touch it to only one " blade" that plugs into the wall and keep it touching the " blade".....while you are holding it there, touch the other meter lead to the other " blade " that plugs into the wall.....you should get a very low ohm reading ( 2-50 ohms )......if it is over that number, your transformer or your switch is open ( toast ). hopefully it is the switch as transformers are un-available......good luck, be safe, and if you arent sure....ask before doing something silly.....Rob

Won't stay powered on. Clicks off within few seconds. Amber power light stays on.

Could be speaker wires shorted together, but it is more likely that there is a fault in the output transistors or the power supply. The front right and left normally produce the most sound output and those transistors run hotter than the other channels. If you have the equipment and know how to check the output transistors, I would start there.

When I switch it on it comes on then switches straight off

More than likely caused by an overload being detected. Often speaker wiring touching or faulty being the culprit. If you disconnect the speaker wires, try it again and it still shuts down, you have perhaps damaged the main amp parts. Or some kind of protection circuit is stopping it.

How do i connect nad av 316 with an lg tv ?

The NAD from what I've seen of the back of it has no digital audio inputs. So unless the TV has standard audio out RCA type connectors you will struggle. If it has a scart socket you can buy a scrat to phono converter. An image will be posted with this message. However the NAD has only Dolby Surround. It has not got a Dolby Digital decoder so it can never produce the Dolby Digital sound used on DVD/Blue Ray discs or that found on HD TV broadcasts. As you didn't say which TV model number, I can't say anything more except if it is an HD model and has digital sound connections you really need to upgrade your Receiver to one that has the latest features. 25381609-f1zs1l5drplu4vyagjti5ukz-2-0.jpg

Nad c370 keeps switching off

Check the speaker wiring for shorts, a common problem. If everything checks out there may be bad solder joints on the main board especially in the output stage, or there is a fault in one or more driver transistors.

No output but all checks seem positive...

You should hear 2 clicks..one when you first turn the unit on, and a second one about 5-20 seconds later. I'm going to guess you don't hear the second click, which means that your NAD has DC Offset, meaning a damaged amplifier.

My old NAD C350 AMP diode turns green when the amp is switched on, says one click, but the second click sound does not appear, like in the good old days. What to do?

Your receiver has a condition known as DC Offset, meaning you have a damaged amplifier. That second relay click, that you don't hear now, is the speaker protection relay not closing, due to the damage. If you're interested in having your receiver repaired, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me there. Thank you.

Hi ihave nad 304 it keeps blowing 5 amp fuses

Most likely caused by a shorted output transistors on at least one channel + possibly some other components they took with them... but maybe you are lucky and you have a shorted power capacitor or something.

NAD 7030 just stopped working on one channel. The speaker will work if the mono button is pressed in. Could this be a fuse problem ?

most likely it will be poor soldering on the input side - the fact both speakers work in mono means the pre & main amps are working fine

Yamaha ca 1000

Probably 60-70 volts. If you need a service manual, I may have one at a cost. For a guesstimate on the voltage, you can check the DC voltage on the large filter capacitors on the filter capacitors following the bridge rectifiers.

NAD 3130 one channel stopped working, tip what to do first?

May not be serious, first with good channel playing move all controls and switches on the amp,Dead spots can occur on controls especially if they are rarely used.balance controls, tape monitor switches etc so work them all.If fault doesn't clear try headphones, switched sockets can cause problems.next swap input signal leads, left to right. and if still no good try swapping over speakers left to right.STILL no sound? its the amp.Time for tools and a test meter. You can look for blown fuses but its never a good idea to replace a blown fuse without testing the circuit first.may cause further damage and put up the repair cost

How to connect a turntable to a nad c730 receiver

Hi You can get a manual for your receiver here 730 Stereo Receiver NAD Electronics by clicking on "manuals and Downloads" and then the 7 language manual. This will download the manual to your computer where it can be saved for future reference. Page 2 shows diagrams of the front and rear panels of the receiver and clearly shows that the turntable should be plugged into the pair of sockets on the left hand side (as you look at it) of the bank of 10 paired input sockets on the rear panel. Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya Cheers
