Mustek Audio Players & Recorders - Popular Questions, Answers, Tips & Manuals
No sound from rear speakers.
Mustek
This is almost always due to a bad speaker connection in the speaker output terminals on the back of the receiver unit, or the speaker input terminals on the back of the speakers. Check your wire connections at these points and fix as necessary. If the plastic wire insulation is pushed inside the terminals, it will prevent the wire from making contact in the terminal. HI!I FROM GREECE! THE BATTERY OF MY MUSTEK PVR-140
Try the website bargain basement batteries, they carry batteries for phones, cameras and laptops and probably for media player. The other choice is to contact the manufacturer and order the replacement parts
AC power jack came loose from the board
This happened to me too. Just unscrew the 4 screws, lift out the hard drive and glue it back down to where it was (2 little pegs will fit into two little holes on the circuit board. You can touch the contacts with a thin tipped soldering iron if you want to but you probably don't need to.Then close it up. That worked for me!
Spares required.
Battery spec as per manual 1000m Ah x2 doesn't give the voltage but the charging addapter is 5volt 2.0amp.

HOW TO CHANGE THE MUSTEK PVR-H140 BETTERY
It is real easy to change the battery, I have done mine a few months ago
if you remove the screws from the back top and bottom (4) and remove the case
next remove the 2 small rubber strips from each side of the hard drive, then very carefully pull the connecting ribbon off the hard drive, this can be tight so gently prise apart with a screw driver,
once the hard drive is removed you will see some earthing straps just make a note of where these are located as you will need to put them back in the right place, they simply touch the hard drive,
now you shoud see the battery (very thin in a blue plastic case) you might want to remove the rubber proctective stuff just to make it a bit easier there is a simple pull/push connector
just unplug it and replace with new battery and reverse the procedure.
Dont panic if the unit fails to switch back on as mine did when i re assembled it
it was just one of those earth straps in the wrong place.
I hope this helps,
P.S I changed the battery on a unit I bought on ebay and i had nothing to loose
if you are unsure do not attemp the repair.
