The phones have to have the same carrier frequency as the base set. The "out of range" display is because the frequencies are not matching. Check with the manufacturer (via website) and ask if your second handset can be programmed to a different base.

to register the extra handset it has to be exactly the same to be compatible with the base
if it is a slightly different model or older unit it probably will not register

I believe you have a problem with the hinge of the flip where your wire that connects to the display opens up your screen. If you keep opening the flip and closing it slowly does the screen turn on and off??? If it does then you have a problem with the hinge like I said. If not then it could be just a software glitch where you need to reinstall the operating system.

the default wifi passkey is usually printed on the label stuck to the router. you can login to the router using admin admin with a lan cable connected pc start a browser and enter into a browser to get the menu up. you can then alter the wifi passkey value to whatever value you prefer. ALL Wifi signals have a PassKey by default so you must have entered it at some stage to the working devices.

Depending on age of phone, a charger should be no problem. As regards a number, you need to buy a simcard, usually. That will then assign you a phone number. Then you have to pay for the calls!
