Hi this is a very common problem with all flip and slide phones and even laptops and netbooks, the problem you are having is with the data ribbon that runs from the screen to the circuit board in the bottom half of the phone, what happens is that this thin ribbon has several single strand copper wires running through it, now when you open and close the phone this ribbon bends to keep the connection with the screen when you open and close the phone, now over time the copper wires get brittle then break causing the white screen that you are getting on your phone.

the ribbon should not have broke after 6 months so if you can take the phone back explain that you have spoken to a phone expert and he told you this should have lasted at least 12months and ask them if they will fix it for you for free.

if they dont then the part itself cost next to nothing to buy and its cheap to have fitted as it is such a common fault so if you have to pay for the repair take the phone to a small phone shop and not a big branded one as the bigger brands will charge alot more as they send the phones off to be fixed. but if you go to a small highstreet store thats owned by one person or even a market stall these should have the parts and should do the repair whilst you wait.

Possible fault in your main board. Since the harware failure will cost mpre than a new phone , the companies take the policy to advice thus. We have come to an age where the cost of this device has ONLY reduced with Better technology due the high demand of Man's personal assistance.
I would advice you to checck the numerous models that are flooding the market which will suit your requirement.
In the long run you will have to forgo old models as even batteries will not be availabel for the said model and you will end up buying old batteries that remain on shelf which might give less life.
Also if you are lucky to find another set discarded for display damage or battery, it might work out cheaper.( plenty around)
BUT do not spend more but use your logic.

When a phone turns off like that there two things you need to look out for:

The battery,
The phone memory.

The battery might be the problem, if the battery cellis too weak and will need to be charged for longer hours for it to come up to be power the phone again.

The phone memory can also cause the phone the go off, if the memory has tampered with either by VIRUS or any application error.

You will need to appliy the first option,so we can be able to know the exact problem of the phone.

Hit the Softkey Up Arrow, when the camera view opens, then click the Right Softkey you will see it say Zoom 1x initially , then click the Right key again for 2x, then 4x, then 8x. Let me know if you need any further help, I use this phone myself..
