Since this is a powered subwoofer, the problem is most likely in the electronics. The most likely component in the amp would the output device. You could look inside to see if it actually has any discreet components in the output. It may just be a single integrated circuit. If so, many of these i.c.'s are dirt cheap, and can be purchased from many electronics parts outlets. get rid of the remote ,get it taken out of the vehicle , i take it that it is also an alarm system as well , if so you could find one day you wont be able to start the vehicle , and immobilizers have a have a great sense of humor they always stuff up when you are out somewhere or its raining
