The National Weather Service (NWS) has certain
criteria for issuing warnings, watches and advisories. They do not issue a warning, watch or advisory if the circumstances are "not" severe enough for them to sound the alarm. If you thinking this is a useless piece of junk, its not. This thing really does work and I have proof. Back in September, our area was under a Flash Food Warning and the weather radio sounded more than once. This meant the conditions we were having were severe enough for the
NWS to sound the alarm. Your winter advisory was not severe enough for the
NWS to sound the alarm. To find out more about their criteria go to
