I take it that you have a wireless mouse. Myself I prefer the ones that plug into the console.

I have had several ports go bad for no apparent reason. its happened on internal and external devices. Frankly, unless this is a thing of principal for you I would just go and order a new hub from Amazon for a few bucks and be done with it. Even if its under warranty you would probably be required to ship the dead one back so that would cost more than getting a new one. Just my 2 cents

I recommend 2 programs that are free and should help you. Malwarebytes and CC Cleaner. Run Malewarebytes first to clean out any junk you may have hacking your resources, then CC Cleaner. It will help you get rid of stuff you don't want as well as taking out any bits of old programs and such that may be causing your problem. I'd forget Windows 10 if I were you. Information on you is collected and sent to Microsoft even if you turn them all off during installation. Nobody gets to spy on my computer. That's why I won't upgrade to 10. As for drivers, you may have to go to Micro Innovations website for drivers , if they even have them. I have a perfectly good dye sublimation printer I cannot use on anything later that win 98 because of the lack of drivers.

It is obviously that the unit have a defective receiver. If replacing the battery from the keyboard does not help, you might need to return the item from the store.
