How do I replace the led in a 2w d cell maglite
Unscrew the top half of the flash light and pull the bulb straight up, and it's out,
Not to mention there's usually a spare bulb in the base of the flashlight under the spring in a piece of foam. unless someone used it already,
Line up the two pins and slide it back into the to pin holes on top and with the bottom of the flashlight back on with battery's try the on off switch and make sure it lights up and not have dead battery's, if it lights up throw away the old led and screw on the top of flashlight,
If it still don't light check for new battery's.
CORROWDED BATTERIE STUCK IN FLASHLITE
Put on a pair of gloves. Then, using needle nose pliers grasp the battery and pull it out. If it's too far down to reach with needle nose, or if the corrosion has "welded" it to the inside of the flashlight, find a flat head screwdriver or stiff wire coat hanger or other tool/object that will reach and is stiff enough to pry the offending battery loose. Once it's broken free, turn it upside down and let the battery fall out on its own. The important thing now is, if you plan on using the flashlight again, cleaning out the inside thoroughly of all corrosive residue. This is particularly important on the metal battery/power contacts. A wire brush should suffice for the inside of the flashlight. Sand paper or file will work for the contacts. Attach to the tip of a screwdriver if you need to reach deep to get them clean. Baking soda will neutralize the battery acid. Finally, remember to recycle the offending battery not throw it out with the regular garbage.

Battery case does not open
make sures its being turned to the left, and if it will not come off, wrap duct tape around it to protect it and use large vice grips or pliers to get it off. Vice grips would be better as the lock but dont' lock them down too tight as you can dent the cap.

I have a mini Maglite with one battery stuck in the barrell
I had a similar problem. My wife put two AA rechargeable batteries into her mini maglite. Apparently the AA rechargeables have a slightly larger diameter than alkaline batteries. One of them was stuck in the barrel. I was able to remove it by first removing the lens and bulb so as not to break it. Then I slammed slamming the barrel down hard onto the carpet on our floor. This hard shock jarred the battery loose and it came out of the barrel. Hope this helps someone out.

My maglite recharable three battery light will not
Best thing to do is send in for warranty repair if the battery an bulb is OK. I would replace the bulb first to verify that it is OK. If it does not work then go to:http://www.maglite.com/repaircenters.aspand find the nearest repair center. Gary
