My kitchen aid mixer model k45 will only operate

Hi REINO66, I suspect you (speed) Control Plate Assembly has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
The good news is that this can be fixed quite easily (OK, maybe with a little effort) by yourself if you are a DITY type person, feel adventurous, and your mixer is not under warranty. However, before you start to disassemble your mixer, be sure you have the Parts List manual on hand. If you're lacking one, you can download a PDF version from the KA website: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> Enter the 6 character model number, in your case use K45SSW, and select the file listed under Parts List (1), K45SSWH0.pdf (341.41 KB). Check to ensure it matches your mixer model.
Turn to pages 6 & 7, titled: Motor And Control Parts, which provides an exploded view for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer’s electrical components, along with all the parts. Find Illus. No. 25, Control Plate Assembly, Part No. 240904-2, which is the part that needs to be replaced.
As far as parts go, here are four potential vendors in no particular order: RepairClinic.com; mendingshed.com; searspartsdirect.com; partstore.com. Prices for the same part can vary widely between vendors, so do your comparison shopping.
Here are some links to several excellent websites that detail the disassembling/reassembly of a KA Mixer.
Between these three websites and their excellent pictures and descriptions and your Parts List manual, you should now be able replace your Control Plate Assembly.
Good luck and have fun. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

Pin that secures roller is stuck in the down

What is the make and model of your mixer?

If there is a possibility that some food could have dripped onto the pin, it could be creating problems with the mechanism. If you are able to remove the bowl, try the tipping the arm into a bowl of hot water in hopes of loosening up any food debris in the mechanism. Power cord disconnected of course. :-)
It is possible that there is a spring inside the mechanism that has failed. If this is the case, it will need to be disassembled for repair.

I look forward to hearing back from you regarding the make and model of your unit. :-)

Noise level

its possible that you got a lemon off the factory line or they forgot to put grease into the transmission case.is there a warranty on it?if so take it back.i work for hobart which sold kitchen aid some years ago,if that mixer is less than a year old as stated, take it back or verbally speak to a kitchen aid rep. and tell them your situation.i really belive you should be able to get a replacement as long as you havent overloaded the unit or caused damage.let me know.

Magic mill DLX 2000 base sent to repair place

I just found my old invoice where I had sent my DLX to be repaired a few years ago. (I had not put in enough moisture and it walked off the (rickety) table I had set it on...)

I need to send it back again and hence my search for the info.
The gentleman I sent it to was Mordechai Roth at Magic Mill Corp in Monsey, NY (10952) This occurred back in 2000, I can't believe I saved the receipt...

Phone number is 914-368-2532 (If it's still good) I am calling tomorrow to see about sending mine in... Hope you find yours...

How to change the belt in a Bodum electric mixer?

Question moved from Cars and Trucks. Stand Mixers don't normally have belts and I don't believe this one does as I can't find spare belts. They are operated by nylon cogs that run in grease. The most likely reason is the she shear pin has sheared. This is a small pin like a nail that goes through a cog or shaft and shears if too much load is put on the mixer beater or dough hook. It often happens if you make bread and have the speed too high. https://www.google.com/search?q=change+the+belt+in+a+Bodum+electric+mixer ..
