Problems with ON button, need multiple tries for
The start Capacitors are Blown. You are essentially building up enough current in the high voltage side to light the CCFL's. Eventually this method will fail to turn the unit on. You will have to open up the monitor and replace the defective Caps.
I just installed a MAG 17 incuh flatscreen monitor
I think that you have chosen some settings that are not compatible on it ..resolution too big and probably the refresh rate high ..
first from the monitor settings ..press the auto-settings button ..and let it make the proper choice ..after that ..to eliminate any settings in the video card that might affect it ..boot your computer in safe mode..and remove the video card driver from control panel ...add /remove programs ...and after that run it again from the disk or ..from teh support site if you do not have the disk ..
If you only have the on board driver..and you do not have a disk ..run it from the drivers of the motherboard disk ..This will reset the odd choices on the video card ..and make it work ..to open in safe mode..press F12 on start ..and choose safe mode..(for some computers the button is F9 or F8 )Usually the button is specified when it boots up ..
But ..for to be sure that this is the cause...you have to hear to computer running ..and only the display to be black ...otherwise can be a physical fault..
Yellowish screen
On a CRT, "yellow" is a mixture of all 3 "primary" colours.
So, if you are expecting some other colour, then one of the 3 "guns" that are emitting one of the primary colours is NOT working correctly.
For less than $100, you can purchase a new, 19-inch (not 17-inch) LCD (not CRT) monitor.
This is less expensive than taking the CRT to a TV/video store for trouble-shooting and repair.
Mag monitor lt782s - green light on screen black
This means that the power supply board has a problem. The problem is that the part of the circuit that controls the backlight has failed. This is usually caused by capacitors that have gone bad or transistors that have shorted.
How do I connect a
Hi Jeff,
Not sure what you are trying to connect, This monitor is over 8 years old. It will only have a VGA connection and the power connector. If you are looking for a DVI connector, it does not have one.
The connections it does have would be on the bottom edge of the monitor.
Thanks for using Fixya.
I have a mag innovision
It took me an hour to find it. It should be on the cord that connects to the hard drive. At the bottom on the blue part.
I have a problem with
Most likely, one of two things are the problem. Assuming that your computer is actually starting up and it passes the POST (you'll get a single beep if you have a system speaker), then the monitor is likely bad. Check it by attaching another monitor to the computer to see if a signal is being put out by the computer. If you get a picture, you have definitely have a bad monitor. If there is no picture on the test monitor, then your video card may be bad.
If the computer is not starting correctly, I'd recommend disconnecting everything but the CPU and memory and possibly the keyboard and trying to boot it. If it's one of the peripherals like the CD/DVD that is bad, then you should get something on the screen (I have had this happen).
WHAT IS BEST METHOD TO CLEAN THE MONITOR SCREEN?
Hi Good day!!
Here's How:
1.Turn off the monitor. If the screen is dark, it will be easier to see the areas that are dirty or oily.
2.Use a dry, soft cloth and very gently wipe the screen. A great choice would be the microfiber type of cloth used to clean eyeglasses.
3.If the dry cloth did not completely remove the dirt or oil, do not press harder in an attempt to scrub it off.
Pushing directly on the LCD screen can often cause pixels to burn out.
4 If necessary, dampen the cloth with distilled water or with an equal ratio of distilled water to white vinegar.
Many companies also sell small spray bottles of special cleaner for flat screen monitors but the vinegar mixture is usually just as effective.
See Tip #2 below for products to avoid.
5.The plastic edge that surrounds the screen can be cleaned with any multipurpose cleaner but take care to avoid contact with the screen itself.
Tips:
1. Avoid using paper towels, toilet paper, tissue paper, or something like your shirt to wipe the LCD screen. These non-ultrasoft materials can scratch the screen.
2. Avoid cleaning products that contain ammonia, ethyl alcohol, acetone, toluene, ethyl acid, or methyl chloride. These chemicals can react with the materials that the LCD screen is made of which could yellow the screen or cause other kinds of damage.
3. Never spray liquid directly on the LCD screen or it could run inside the monitor and cause damage.
I have a MAG innovision 900p 19" monitor that
White screen means that the video signal is not getting from the vga board inside the monitor to the actual lcd screen panel.
It may be a bad vga input board (also called a main board)
OR
It could be simply a bad connection on the wiring harness that connects this board to the lcd panel
Or
it could be a blown fuse on the board on the board that is permanently mounted to the back top of the lcd panel.
I would check the wiring connection to the lcd panel inside the monitor first
