You should be able to get a replacement part for that. Also depending on how tech savvy you are, might be able to open it up and resolder the USB port back onto the board. No idea of the cost of the part however, depends on the manufacturers part list.
Project Mix was running fine
Hi there,
It's quite possible that you need to repair the disk permissions on your Mac. Below is a detailed list of steps you'll need to take to repair the disk permission. Please follow the steps thoroughly. It is also important to note that you MUST be logged onto your computer as an administrator in order to troubleshoot this issue.
First, you need to uninstall Project Mix completely. You may wish to try running the installation program again to see if an uninstall option is available at any point during installation to make sure that Project Mix is completely uninstalled. After uninstalling, Go to HD > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utilities.
Specify your HD and do a Repair Disk Permissions. Reboot the computer once done. After reboot, Try installing Project Mix again and see if it will work.
If these steps fails to correct your "kext error" as we call it, then you might need to contact your software manufacturer for an updated driver.
Hoepe this helps

Why my pc have no audio output?
Check device manager if there's a problem with the device. Tell me if it has a question mark or exclamation mark on it. Also check if your audio is on mute.

Make sure you've adjusted the Mix knob correctly. The Mix knob is above the Output knob. Turning it counter-clockwise allows you to hear more of your input and turning it clockwise lets you hear more of your playback. Try adjusting the knob clockwise to get more of your playback feed.

Make sure all of your connections are good and that your cables are not cracked and or cut. You might want to try a different USB port. Make sure that your device is recognized and enabled by clicking on "start" at lower left corner of your screen. Find "control panel" and click on that to open. In your window now, find "Device Manager". Right click on that and open, click continue. Click on the box with + next to "sound ideo and game controllers". A box will drop down with your devices. If you don't see M-Audio or Fast track or reference to your device, try a differnt USB port If you do see yor device, Right click on it and a window will come up with "enable" or "disable" if you see enable, click on that and exit. If the device showed up and it is or you enaled it you may want to update your driver. You can do so here;
