How do you manually reset a lowrance eliite 5
You can try holding in the zoom in/out buttons (+/-) as you push and release the power button.
Hold the zoom keys until you hear a beep.
If your hard restart is successful. You should see the GPS screen with prompts for language etc.
if you cannot get the system to cooperate and all you see is the "Lowrance" screen, then you are experiencing a Castro pic system failure and the unit needs to go back to Lowrance.
How to install wiring
Start at the transducer, mount it then pull the transducer wiring forward using a wire snake. At the same time pull forward 14ga wire to attach to your power leads.
on most boats I've done this process takes from 90 minutes to 3 hours.
The transducer and head unit are easy to put on. Getting wire from point A to point B is the time consuming part.
Once you have your wires pulled forward route them to your head unit at your console. Drilling of access holes may be required.
Connect power, plug in the transducer line.
Black to negative at the battery, red to positive, don't forget to put in the in line fuse included in your box.
Good luck.
My lowrance elite 4 HDI goes black when i get on plane so my backtrack feature doesnt work
The speed of your boats travel only directly affects your sonars ability to read the water depth.
your backtrack feature is GPS based. These is not affected by your boat being on plane.
Your screen being black sounds like your sonar is losing bottom contact due to air bubbles passing under the transducer. This is a common occurrence with most boats.
Add some details regarding what your seeing and we can help you get a better handle on your difficulty.
How much torque on the transducer mounting bolt?
I install these and other Lowrance systems.
For me there is no specific amount of tourque, it's primarily your best judgment.
You want the bolt tight enough so that the transducer doesn't pivot while on plane but if it were to collide with something it would pivot up out of the way.
Hds 10 gen 2 having trouble picking up location takes 20 to 30 minute to locate.
Aluminum will block a GPS signal, but the aluminum needs to be above the antenna and within approximately 12 inches or less.
the other major source of interference is the electromagnetic field of other electronics in close proximity to your GPS antenna. Typically within about 24"-30" or less in distance from the antenna. The internal antenna of the HD 10 is top dead center of the unit.
Turn the "WAAS" off on your unit and see if that improves reception.
Hope this info helps.
How do I fix a Lowrance X-45 fish finder screen?
Hi Bobby
This condition is nearly always caused by a power supply issue.
Carefully check, clean and lube power cable connections, paying particular attention to crimp connectors, fuse holders and so on.
Hope this helps you out.
