According to their web site Ladies watch is Caliber L176, and Mens is L178, and they both use battery 317/379 Renata or equivalent. But....... Longines has free Lifetime battery replacement, just take it to any Longines retailer and get it done there.

with this model you simply wind the crown without pulling it out. Wind approx. 20 times and see how you get on.

If you installed the wrong battery that can be the cause.

Just unscrew the screw at the back if your model have screw if not the other one snap to open.Use a pocket knife then open it look the number battery and replaced it with same number battery. Its you use Renata battery it is swiss 3years to last.

Changing the date on the Oposition is done by pulling out the crown to the first stop (pulling out to the second stop sets the time). Turn the crown clock-wise/counter-clockwise to change the date.
