How do I find the ssid for my router
If you connect with a cable to your Router and access the control pannel you should see what is the SSID (name of your Wireless network ) of this routeur.
If you can not do that , while the router is in function check the available wifi available with your portable laptop or tablet , it should be the strongest signal since you are close by. To make sure it is the right one , shut down the routru and recheck with your laptop to seee witch one has dissapeared from the list available
I have a Linksys E2500 Router. I do not remember having a password, but apparently I do. How do I find it?
You actually may not have set up a password on the router. It comes from the factory with a default. The default username is left blank and the default password is "admin". If that doesn't work, then there is a different password on the unit. You can clear the password by doing a factory reset on the device, but then you will need to use the defaults to go back in a set up the device all over again. The external reset method is to press and hold the RESET button on the bottom or the back of the unit (it may be recessed into a small hole that you will need to use a paperclip on) for a minimum of ten seconds.

How can I make settings to support DHCP IP assignments and also recognize my manual IP's assigned to the LAN connected devices?
The easiest way I can think of is to shrink the DHCP address pool.
To do that, at least on the model of Actiontec router I have, click on "Network (Home/Office)" the go to the "IP Address Distribution" section of the screen. "DHCP Server" should already be selected, and under that, you'll find "Start IP addresses" and "End IP addresses." Usually, the start will be 192.168.1.2 and the end will be 192.168.1.254. What I usually do is change the start address to 192.168.1.200. That leaves over 50 addresses for normal wireless connections, and I'll general assign IP addresses from the rest of the range as follows:
192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.9: routers, APs, etc.
192.168.1.50 to 192.168.1.59: printers
192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.109 for other static devices. (I often find that Blu-Ray players, cable boxes, etc. behave better if they have a static address.)
But really, on home network, I doubt you'll have more than 15 devices that need static addresses, so you could set the DHCP start address as low as 192.168.1.16 if you wanted to.

Can it send messages or emails when someone logs in?
Anyone who connects to your wifi connection can send emails a and such, but only from their own accounts unless they know how to hack into your accounts (doubtful).
Hopefully I've answered your question. The wording and saying it instead of whatever device you're referring to is confusing.

Wifi network not working in some rooms
Change the position of the WiFi router, because there are things like duct work, metal studs and electrical wiring concealed in the walls that can and will have an effect on WiFi signal strength.

HOW TO CHANGE PASSWORD
Access your router by entering your IP address into the IP address tool bar at the top of the page. The linksys address is 192.168.1.1.You will be prompted to enter the user name & password. Enter admin for user name and admin for the password. It will probably update firmware automatically and you will now have unrestricted access to the system's utility software including change of password.
Do I need a password to hook up my router?
When you plug it in, it will be enabled and wont have any security features. So you need to set up wireless security and passwords if you are using wireless. Note that you can only set it up if you are connected to it with a cable from the computer. It should have an installation CD that makes the process easy.
