2005 lincoln ls 3.9 v8 etc failsafe mode was on replaced 2 coils now it starts but accelerates really slow

Some vehicles need to be reset after a fail safe issue has been repaired. This is commonly done using an OBD diagnostic tool. If you have to pay for this ask at 4 or 5 different places as prices can be VERY different.

My 2009 Lincoln MKZ is having issues with the heated/ventilated seats. Lights come on, heat partially works. Ventilated feature doesn't work, but I can hear fans. How do I fix?

Heated Cooled Seat Control Module . B2486- climate control seat module voltage out of range. Did you test voltage out of range with DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter ? B2486 Climate Control Seat Module Voltage Out of Range On-Demand and Continuous REFER to Section 414-00 to diagnose the charging system concern. B103C Thermoelectric Driver Open Load On-Demand and Continuous Go To Pinpoint Test T . Pinpoint Test T: DTC B103C - Thermoelectric Driver Open Load Refer to Wiring Diagrams Cell 119 , Climate Controlled Seats for schematic and connector information. Normal Operation Both the driver and front passenger climate controlled seats are independently controlled electronically by the dual climate controlled seat module (DCSM) mounted to the bottom of the passenger seat cushion. The climate controlled seat system only operates with the engine running, however, if using a scan tool to command the DCSM, diagnostic testing can be carried out with the ignition switch key ON engine OFF (KOEO). The system receives power from battery junction box (BJB) fuse 12 (30A) feeding battery voltage on circuit SBB12 (GN/RD) into DCSM C3305a pin F. The system also receives power from BJB fuse 11 (30A) feeding battery voltage on circuit SBB11 (BU/RD) into DCSM C3305a pin E. If power is disconnected from either pin E or F of DCSM C3305a with the power connection remaining on the other circuit, both seats will remain operational because the power feed circuits are connected internally in the DCSM. However, if a fault occurs setting a DTC specific to either climate controlled seat, only the affected seat will be disabled by the module and the other will remain operational. Each driver and front passenger seat cushion is equipped with a thermo-electric device (TED) assembly that includes a seat blower (fan motor, serviced as an assembly with the TED). Similarly, each driver and front passenger seat backrest is also equipped with its own TED assembly with blower. Cabin air is drawn through the blower and distributed to each of the TED modules located in the seat cushion and backrest. The TEDs then heat or cool the air. The air is then directed into the foam pad and manifold where it is distributed along the surface of the cushion and backrest of the seat. Once the system is activated, the DCSM uses a set of flexible algorithms to control the heating/cooling modes and the blower speed dependant on the EATC seat switch settings. Possible Causes A TED driver open load fault can be caused by:
  • wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • a faulted TED assembly.
  • a faulted DCSM.

2009 Lincoln town car lots of codes

The P07** relate to transmission issues, the rest fuel/air mixture. From what you have done so far, I recomend you take it to a garage for professional service. If you replaced the O2 sensors with aftermarket ones, that is the first thing I would suspect.

It's between the gas tank and the engine. Google the filter and you might be able to recognize it. The AutoZone part number is FF610DL approximately $3.89. Hope this helps.

Over-heating issue

2000 LS cooling system is a very tough system to diagnosis. Any kind of air in system will totally stop the flow and cause it to heat. That is the reason it has 2 places to bleed the air from the system. The one at the engine where the upper hose connects and one beside the brake booster near the degas bottle(rubber tube with a screw end).
The cooling fan is also hydraulic and has it's own power steering pump.
The good thing about this system is that it uses a cylinder head temp sensor that measures the metal temp and not engine coolant temp. When the PCM sees the CHT reach a certain temp it will start shutting down 4 cylinders at a time and use these cylinders as actual air pumps to help cool the engine down.If this does not work it will then shut the engine down totally until the temps come back down.

The most common problems we see are thermostats, crack degas bottle,or a leak somewhere, and of course air in the system. Have not seen a cracked head yet however did see one that pushed the plug out of the cooling port in the head but this also filled the oil with coolant.
Have also seen cooling fans that would not work until PCM demmanded high speed, caused by a weak power steering pump.

2001 LS. Why don't steering wheel controls and horn work?

Replace your clockspring, it causes these both to fail if it is bad. KJ

2005 Lincoln Town Car. What can I do to fix the hood, it will not latch securely?

Spray the lock mechanism and saftey latch with WD40 and operate it a few times. There is adjustment on the latch, but you shouldn't need it unless you can see that it moved.

My 2004 Lincoln Navigator has a DVD player near the passenger side but It doesn't have a monitor. What is the DVD player for.?

Is the DVD slot in the dash board or in the second row? Does it appear to be factory installed or possibly aftermarket? If factory and in the front, I'd suspect it's for loading navigation system updates. Does your Navigator have factory navigation? -Rod
